"Sweet & charming"
We loved this place, from the Todd Oldham-designed rooms (why doesn't EVERY hotel have window seats with cushions, instead of the same old chairs?) to the garden lounge/restaurant. We didn't eat most of our meals here, but we hung out at night by the peaceful fountain among the palm trees and had espresso and awesome coconut sorbet. Very friendly and helpful staff. Our room had a fabulous shower (large showerhead, great water pressure, plenty of hot water). There seemed to be a bit of unevenness in the availability of towels, especially at the pool, one day -- not sure what that was about, but it was remedied quickly. Liked the location a block away from Ocean Drive -- still close enough to get to all the Art Deco Weekend goings-on, but more peaceful.

"Sheek Hotel "
Went with a couple of friends for a mini vacation (3 days) and it was great! Hotel was a nice boutique hotel with a great location. Close enough to walk to ocean drive and the beach! Went to the open bar hour and the bartender Kat was amazing. She was very attentive. The hotel also has 2 pools, one which was on the rooftop and was heated! Check out was smooth. Will definitely be coming be back very soon to this hotel.

"Just steps to beach"
We loved that we were just steps away from the beach! Towel service was included as well as padded lounger chairs on the beach. Umbrellas were available to rent for $19 and bed lounger for $100. Get there early (towel service starts at 9:30 I think it was? And food/drink service was from 11:30 - 5 if I remember correctly ) and stay as long as you want! There are waiters on the beach and pool area who you can order food and drinks from. Outdoor whirlpool wasn't very large but having two pool areas was nice. Lots of outdoor seating. Staff was extremely friendly and concierge was so helpful! We stayed in one of the Lanai rooms and it was a good size. Mini bar, two tvs, decent size bathroom. Curtains had stain and one of the blinds were torn. Bed would creak anytime you moved but comforters were soft. We weren't able to open the blinds at all really on either side of the room because there are balconies on both sides so no privacy. Located on Collins there is so much too do! So many great restaurant ( pricey but everything is down here ). Nice brick path that runs along beach you can walk /jog/ bike on. Airport was about 30 minutes away with traffic. We used a cab or Uber for transportation. Walgreens within walking distance from hotel.

Nice hotel, great location. clean room. Helpful staff Really appreciate the early check in. I arrived at 6.00 am and my room was ready. Maybe a coffee maker and a small table will make the room more comfy

"nice hotel with terrible service and thin walls"
the rooms are very nice and beds are comfortable. however, the walls are thin, so be prepared to hear every single person making noise in the hallway. housekeeping only comes once per day and no water is provided in the rooms. the beach is crowded and chairs are too close to each other (and food is grossly overpriced - we paid $90 for 2 salads and 4 water bottles, since water is not free). hotel seems understaffed at front desk, in housekeeping, and at restaurants. crowd is rather eurotrash. with that said, its a great location and rooms are nice and clean. would stay here again if i didnt want to pay up slightly for a hotel with better service.

"Perfect hotel in Miami Beach"
My husband stayed in the Surfcomber in Dec 2016 in the courtyard king room and found it to be spacious enough for the both of us, contrary to what other reviews stated. Super comfortable bed and amazing pool! Very conveniently located to beach, Lincoln Road, and restaurants. We never had a problem finding a chair by the pool or beach, and the staff by the pool and front desk was super friendly and always willing to help. The food by the pool was also very delicious, esp the sliders and yucca fries! Drinks were a little weak and sugary for the price, but if you stick to beer you will be ok. The hotel has complimentary wine at happy hr (the red and white wines were good, but the sangria was too sweet...not a problem as we just added another cup of red wine to our sangria). Our room was also super quiet at night so we were able to get a very good night's sleep. We loved this hotel and will definitely be back the next time we are in Miami. We have already raved about the Surfcomber to our friend's and family back home. Thank you for an amazing vacation!

"Weekend Get-Away"
I enjoyed my stay at The Marlin for the most part. I was put off by the fact that the front door was locked all day long and that you needed your room key card to open it when you wanted to come in. The concierge said it was for "safety", but as a single woman, I never felt unsafe either at the hotel or in the streets surrounding it. It felt like 'code' for "protecting you from the homeless Black and Brown men in the area". My room was quite clean; however, it was so small that although I had come to SOBE to relax and nap, I felt compelled to get out of my room so that I could have space. While there is much to see (& critique) in the area, I didn't want to have be out and about--I wanted to rest and lounge in my room when I wanted. Last concern was the room was not soundproofed. While I didn't complain about it, because I know some poor sod was just doing his job, I kept hearing someone working and it sounded as if they were going to bang through my ceiling at times during the day.

"Unbelievably spacious hotel one block from beach"
This hotel is in a perfect location one block from the beach and within walking distance of everything South Beach. What sold us is the 1000 square foot rooms. That is unheard of in South Beach. The private access to the rooftop pool plus our own private rooftop deck and terrace was amazing. The staff was lovely as well. Would definitely come back again and stay here.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
