The front desk staff was stellar in every way, esp Maki. They would even come out from behind the desk and assist us with our questions. We felt comfortable and at ease to start our magnificent vacation visiting and exploring the Smithsonian museums.

Pleasant, clean, comfortable, but too many little things were wrong. The request for breakfast in my room was left over from a previous tenant, and after receiving a new one, I was never given a new one for the next night. When my
breakfast was brought it lacked a cup for the coffee. The intercom took some study to operate. As I said, little things:
little annoyances that mark an inadequate, though not unpleasant, hotel.

Hotel is located within the campus of Gallaudet University. At first when you get in it gets little confusing as to which building is the hotel but its not difficult to figure it out. If they had some more signs pointing to the hotel, would be nicer. We reached before check in time and hotel staff was nice to hold our luggage till the room got ready. They offer shuttle to Union station from where we took the Metro to station close to White house. There was a little snag while getting parking. The front desk staff gave me a print out and instructed to put that on dashboard while parking but completely ignored to give directions to parking garage. But parking is not far, it is just behind the hotel near the football field. Its $$$ though, $30 a night. Room was clean and comfortable. My husband got breakfast next morning and the staff there was very courteous. Check out was smooth.

The metro is close by to either Farragut West or Foggy Bottom stop (with a little walk). Very nice staff, rooms are well maintained. It is an older property with character and charm. If you are looking for stainless steel/glass/modern, this isn't your place. I like the design elements personally. Every room I have been in - have stayed five or six times now, has been comfortable. each evening, the shades are drawn, water is dropped off and a light is turned on for your return. I normally have business on my check out day and always get my bag checked/stored for the day with a smile.
