This was our first stop for the night after flying into Raleigh. The place was quaint and comfortable and the staff was very nice. We walked downtown for dinner and enjoyed the old buildings and lightning bugs (we don't have them in CA)! The beds were comfortable and we had a good night. The bathrooms were clean, but a disappointment because they just didn't fit the look of the building. Milk and cookies was a nice treat in the parlor when we arrived and the breakfast in the morning was satisfying.

We really enjoyed staying here for a week. It's not fancy but the staff is very attentive and friendly. Most importantly, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Our room had a renovated bathroom with granite counter top and faucet, new toilet and tub. Large outdoor pool. Fast, free WiFi.
Every day, no matter what time we left, we'd return and the beds were made and the bathroom straightened up with fresh towels.
We kept drinks, leftovers and sweets in the fridge, could use the microwave if we needed. Plus, the breakfast was much better than most hotels in this range -- much better. Fresh scrambled eggs (real eggs), hot biscuits (home-made, not frozen like most hotels -- hello Best Western!), sausage, bacon (either crisp or medium, your choice). Fruit. Potatoes. Cereal. Decent variety and every item is good quality not the el-cheapo chain hotel versions (you call that thing egg, Hampton Inn?).
It's just not your normal chain hotel -- because it's not. From the cloth napkins and heavy silverware at the buffet breakfast to the solid selection of the breakfast items, it's just a good experience. Ok, so the upholstered chairs are a little worn and the breakfast area is a little small. Maybe the carpet in the halls could be updated. After a day we didn't even notice.
It's an older hotel and has been there a long time. But they keep it maintained well. We're going to be back in town around the holidays and we've already decided to stay there.

Excellent hotel but we did expierence a hair in the bed and a stain on the sheet and pillow case. Hotels can't be perfect, which is why I rated it 4 for cleanliness.
The location of the parking is in the back of the hotel in which you have to walk around to the front which isn't ideal.

Parking lot isn't complete, parked in gravel. The pictures gave me the impression that this was a new hotel, but it wasn't and the shower area wasn't as nice as I expected, rug seemed worn, other things just seemed a little overused and not quite as clean / new as I expected. For example, the elevators were also quite slow and the one had a really odd pause when the door was going to open -- it opened very slowly and made you wonder if you were going to be stuck. Otherwise it was an okay to decent hotel.

We always have a great stay at La Quintas. It was quiet. The rooms were nice. The beds were soft. Great area close to everything. It's about a 10 minute drive to downtown. The breakfast in the morning was nice. No complaints would stay here again.

Wonderful welcome. One of the staff pulled my suitcase up the stairs. Later, the bar tender gave great snack options. And the late night front desk guy had to come out in the pouring rain and open the security gate. My key card would not read.

A shockingly unbelievable low price this was by far the hidden gem! Stayed in "The Mews" a short walk from the Manor House (although we never walked as complimentary rides either from Vans or golf cart were always available) the courtyard was charming and its fountain was majestic. The morning complimentary breakfast was fit for a king.
