Spent 6 days in Salzburg. Came across this hotel in Expedia and was impressed with the description of room and location. Hassle free check in and was very surprised at the cleanliness and spacious feel of the hotel room. Very close to the Mirabell Palace and gardens which we walked through most days to get to the old town. Getting the Salzburg Card saved us loads of money which enabled us to visit the Untersburg cable, Hellbrunn Palace, River cruise etc. etc free of charge. Also is worthwhile to take the hop on hop off bus to visit all the various attractions.

This hotel has everything: great location in the Altstadt, friendly and welcoming personnel, beautiful & pleasantly quirky rooms themed to the famous Salzburg Festival of opera/concerts/theater and a top-notch restaurant with very atmospheric seating on the narrow cobblestone street. Our room, #43, was themed to the opera Il Trovatore and had a small terrace from which to enjoy morning coffee and evening drinks, or just to have a little time reading a good book. The in-room refrigerator was well-stocked (initial supply of beverages is included, after that, requires payment), and in-room coffee and tea were on hand, all of good quality. Very comfortable and pleasant, so highly recommended.

This clean and comfortable hotel was located near bus stops to the train station and airports. It is a short walk across the bridge into the old section of Salzburg. The front desk was helpful and suggested a great restaurant, told us where to park our rental car and found a solution for the only problem that arose. (The problem: We were supposed to get a rollaway in our room one night and despite a reminder phone call arrived at 11:30 P.M. to find no extra bed. We we had to move rooms which was not ideal but it was a quick solution.) There is a lounge with free coffee and tea after 11 am. A nice touch and a place to unwind. The breakfast has many offerings in a pretty, sun filled room. The first day we didn't eat there but realized it was quite a deal for 15 Euros. Would stay here again and recommend it.

Located on a square, directly opposite Mozart's house, this graceful and gracious hotel was close to everything we wanted to do. It is within sight of the pedestrian bridge (the "locks bridge") across the river to the old town center.
Our junior suite was large and well decorated, with a wonderfully spacious bath. Mirror everywhere. Comfortable bed.
Breakfast is a feast and included with the room. Irresistible pastries, abundant and delicious cheeses, slices of ham, prosciutto, turkey ham, fresh fruit, stewed fruit, cereal, yogurt, hot buffet of sausage, bacon and eggs, and eggs cooked to order. There were fresh squeezed juices, and coffee and tea. Jams, preserves, and butter.
The staff was hospitable and cheerful without exception. It was a thoroughly pleasant stay, and we will stay here again whenever we return to Salzburg.

Great location but major language barrier. My dad threw out his back so we never got the chance to explore salzburg, so we stayed in the hotel the entire time. The air conditioning did not work so that was very unpleasant.

Old looking, but clean and cozy. Bathroom is modern, everything looked almost new.
I enjoyed breakfast that was included. It was also open to people who don't stay at the hotel for 16 euro. Fruit salad and vegetables were fresh, you have many choice of fresh bread, cerials, yogurt, and juice. Also smoked salmon, cold cut, cheese. Coffee and tea is always there for the hotel guests. You can ask for eggs to be cooked in any way, too.
Concierge there gave me good advice for exploring the lovely city which was very helpful.

Salzburg's Old Town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. Its main shopping street, the Getreidegasse, is one of the busiest shopping streets in Europe. Mozart's Birthplace is also on this street and can be toured. Other top draws include the Salzburg Cathedral and the Hohensalzburg Castle, which towers above the Old Town, offering wonderful views of the city.
