Excellent hotel with friendly helpful staff. Only issue was huge amount of building work in Sydney at moment including Barangaroo area that hotel overlooks, George Street going into City and Argyle Street used to walk to Circular Quay.

I have mixed feelings about the hotel. I keep coming back because we have stayed there quite a number of times over the years. However, we were last there some 5 years ago and we believed it needed an updating then and nothing has evidently happened since. It is very tired and I really wish the owner would re-invest in it because it could be a real jewel. The rooms are a good size, the staff are friendly, and the location excellent, but it needs work.
The staff are friendly and obliging.

Our reception person, Honor, and our concierge, Michael, were fantastic on our arrival. They stored our luggage until our room was ready, and we walked around Sydney until then. We got back to the hotel and were wonderfully pleased with our fantastic suite (kitchen, laundry, etc.). The staff were wonderful. The view from the pool deck was fabulous. The walk to Circular Quay was less than 10 minutes; from there, ferries and trains everywhere. We booked a tour through Expedia and the pickup was just across the street from the hotel. There was a convenience store 25 steps from the elevator at Harrington Street level.

Upon checking into the Park Hyatt Sydney, we were greeted by friendly customer service staff members. We were only there for a night because we were running the Sydney bridge run the day after. We checked into the harbour view and had an amazing view of the harbour during the day and night - don't worry about the sound because you could barely hear it from your room! The staff at Park Hyatt were incredibly understanding and made our experiences really amazing when they organised for breakfast to arrive at our rooms much earlier than when it was available because of our running commitment in the morning. Also due to the run closing off major roads in the CBD, they organised taxi and pick-up points a bit away from the hotel but still, every staff were incredibly helpful with making it such a wonderful experience. I look forward to my next stay!

Pocket Guide: Barangaroo Circular Quay - The Rocks Hotels
Hugging the harbour, this district is a monument to sensitive urban planning, with well-preserved cobbled lanes and a Colonial streetscape marking it as Sydney’s oldest district. Locals and visitors mingle here amid designer boutiques, al fresco cafés, lively pubs, galleries, museums, and some of the city’s best restaurants. The weekend markets are not to be missed.
