"Friendly staff, great free breakfast, fridge+micro"
I would stay there again. Spent one night with my sons. Rooms and bathroom were clean. Limited supply of soap/shampoo (for 1 person) - just ask for more if you have 2+ people. It has a fridge and a microwave. Nice size (32' or 40") plasma TV - we did not watch: were exhausted. AC/Heating looks new. Corridor carpet may not look appealing and it does smell like smoke as you walk in the hall; but the room was very clean.
Now, the free breakfast was awesome! We were not expecting that. (We were ready to hit a fast-food place on the way out), but we ate enough to get on the road and feel full for hours.
They had a cute 4 waffle machine (you can make it yourself: super easy; they give the batter - you just pour in the machine. Ready in 2-3 minutes.) Toast bread: wheat and white. Activia yogurt. Coffee/orange and apple juice. Mini muffins. Butter, grape jelly, maple syrup. Milk and cereal (two types). Fresh bananas. Self-serve, buffet type. Nice secluded area for eating. Away from front desk and corridor. TV was on too. We had a great time seating there and enjoying.
Price when we booked was only $53/night. Totally recommend, mainly if you are on a budget!

As last time everything was great. Except for the person that had the room above me, it sounded like they were trying to move the furniture around every five minutes and did a lot of walking around the room with with heel taps on there shoes..

Good enough for a night after a long drive. Felt like a safe neighborhood. Seemed quiet. Not a luxury accommodations by far but good enough for a good enough rest and quick shower. I could hear people leaving early in the morning but that wouldn't prevent from staying again. If you have any kind of pet, do not sneak it in. Staff is aggressive and uses security cameras to catch its guests and then charges them double!! What a way to treat a "guest." $15 is a little excessive for a 5 pound hypoallergenic toy poodle! I could have boarded her cheaper!! We were there for literally less than 9 hours: check in 11pm, check out 7:15am. This hotel does not obviously utilize that extra $$$ to update the premises.

I got a room with a jetted tub, and the tub's jets weren't working properly. The remotes were dead as well, and my phone didn't work sometimes. The WiFi was bad as well. My room didn't get nickelodeon or cartoon network, so when I had my daughter she didn't have much to watch. The room was still comfortable and clean. They have an indoor pool and a hot tub. I'm not saying all rooms will be this bad, but that weekend mines was. Over all it wasn't the worst I have seen.

Stayed here two nights. Hotel is recently updated and everything is in very nice condition. Convenient to I-95 and Richmond/Petersburg. Only about a 25 min drive to downtown Richmond. Would recommend for business travelers as well as families.

Originally a stop on the Richmond and Petersburg Railroad, today Chester is a small commuter community along State Route 10, about 16 miles south of Richmond. Most commercial development in the area is at the intersection of SR-10 and the Jefferson Davis Highway. Civil War sites in the area include Battery Dantzler and Howlett Line Park.
