We booked into a deluxe room at the Grosvenor recently and due to a misinterpretation of the facilities available in the room we were left a little disappointed. The staff (especially Danielle) went above and beyond when ensuring they did everything possible to make us happy, and turned a potentially disappointing stay into a fantastic one.
The Grosvenor is a great hotel, and its location and facilities are deserving if its 5 star status, however its the staff that it a very special hotel.

Arrived at 1pm reception was very busy (it was Chester races weekend!) Check-in was satisfactory considering the demand.
We were upgraded to a kings suite without any extra charge which was a bonus. The room has very comfortable and the bed amazingly comfortable.
Dined at the kings restaurant & cocktail bar, had a 3 course meal which scored 10/10 and service provided could not be improved....well done guys. Must mention karib? Whom has an amazing knowledge of Gin.....tried the Mediterranean gin if you are a gin lover try it😃
Breakfast as expected a choice of full English or continental plenty to keep you going all day.
Check-out again a bit slow but no complaint.
Will be back.

Checking in was quick, staff had taken note of our request to avoid stairs if possible and placed us in a recently renovated room to the rear of the beer garden with direct access into the street. Room pleasant if a little small. Breakfast was good but only served until 9.00am.

The hotel is in a great location for the city centre shopping and nightlife. The room we stayed in was very small, but it was only for one night so my wife and I weren't too bothered. The rooms are freshly decorated and although the curtain rail was hanging off the wall, it stayed up and we were told this would be fixed in a couple of days. Very odd bathroom setup, with the toilet cistern doubling as the sink, but again it was only for one night so we weren't bothered by this.

Sitting on the banks of the River Dee, Chester is a beautiful city and the gateway to North Wales. The striking city walls envelop the medieval town, offering superb views of Chester Racecourse and the famous Eastgate Clock for those who walk the circuit. Grosvenor Park gives way to 20 acres of greenery, where visitors can ride the miniature railway and admire the fountains and streams along the way.
