I enjoyed a comfortable stay at the Chester Grosvenor, it is a lovely hotel in the heart of the Chester. My only slight negatives were that additional charges were placed on just about everything such as accessing the spa area (not treatments) or anything warm with your breakfast. Whilst my room was lovely (328) the bathroom could do with refreshing a little bit, the shower pole and bath were both marked from use. Not a major issue, but not particularly in keeping with the 5* offer.
All things considered I'd use the Grosvenor again.

Room 116 too small, very squashed! Burst water main in morning meant no shower and( I appreciate it was not the hotels fault) led to us leaving without looking in one single shop :-( pretty much a wasted trip !

"Good value and quality, easy to find, good parking"
I stayed one night on business during April. The room was easy to find but quite a long way from reception. However this meant it was quiet and had a nice view on a grassy area and trees beyond.
Car parking is excellent; it is spacious and safe.
Breakfast was in my room rate. It was mainly a nice buffet with a good choice. In addition toast, coffee and eggs bacon etc were available to order. Service was very quick. Good breakfast.
The restaurant was quite quiet and the staff extremely pleasant and attentive (perhaps I was asked a few times too many whether the food was OK). The smoked salmon starter was a bit boring and unadventurous but the main course steak was very nice.
The room was nice and large with a sofa and large bed. The bathroom was OK with good towels. The shower temperature was a little difficult to set. All very clean and tidy. The radiator in the room had an easy to use temperature control that allowed me to get the room temperature just right.
Recommended, nothing really wrong with this hotel.

Food was average not a lot of people in eating which is a shame as the hotel was nice. Breakfast was ok the bacon very greasy and the sausages didn't taste nice either. Staff need training on how to handle guests. As my friend had to go to the desk early hours of the morning as there was shouting outside her room and the night staff did nothing about it which I was very upset about as I had booked the hotel for our trip to the races.

Arrived about 5 checked in the staff were very helpful and friendly, booked a table for 8pm, room was OK clean and tidy, went to the spa and found the facilities very good, clean and well maintained, had a drink in the lounge which was very pleasant and comfortable, went to dine but there was no table available, not wanting to cause a fuss decided to eat in the lounge, starter was Asian platter turned out to be a selection of greasy overcooked spring rolls and under cooked greasy papadam (type of thing you buy frozen from budget supermarket), the main course of Caesar salad and Nicoise salad were sad, mixed leaves ( like you get from a budget supermarket) one with a tin of tuna dumped over them and not an olive in sight, the other with a little parmesan croutons seemingly out of a packet opened months ago by the rancid taste and one anchovy fillet.
Good that the restaurants in Chester were great, we may never have found out if the food was edible.

Although on the main road, we were given a room at the back so we're not aware of traffic noise. The lodge is very clean and decorated in a modern style. The breakfasts were brilliant. A bonus is the bar.

Sitting on the banks of the River Dee, Chester is a beautiful city and the gateway to North Wales. The striking city walls envelop the medieval town, offering superb views of Chester Racecourse and the famous Eastgate Clock for those who walk the circuit. Grosvenor Park gives way to 20 acres of greenery, where visitors can ride the miniature railway and admire the fountains and streams along the way.
