"Well located to all attractions and restaurants"
Hotel has an odd set up with a motor lobby and a main lobby but seems to work. The hotel is well located for access to all downtown attractions and restaurants. I look for 5 things in a hotel... a good location, a good bed, good TV, internet access and good shower pressure. This hotel delivered on all counts. The reason I will not give it 5 stars is simply because the rooms (particularly the bathroom) are quite small.

" Great time! a few changes would make it perfect!"
Our room was spacious (grizzly suite) and the perfect size for us. (4 adults and an 18 month old) Loved the balcony overlooking quiet wooded area. It was very relaxing after a day of fun. The rest of our group was in the wolf den suite ( w 2 boys ages 8 and 12). The boys loved being in "their" little room but slept on the pull out couch after the first night saying he beds were very uncomfortable. Staff very helpful especially when one of us got sick. The food was reasonably priced and very good. Both the buffet and sit down (?northwoods) totally worth it! Also tons of restaurants close by if a person does want to venture out. Many activities besides the water park but be prepared to spend a good bit. Ropes course was great. Putt putt nothing special. The boys loved the magiquest but I recommend getting one adventure at a time. Glad we did that as they we're happy to do the one but didn't want to continue. Down sides: with all door knobs being the lever type our 18 month old could easily open them! Not a problem for the door to the room as we always used the extra lock. A HUGE safety problem with the bathroom doors though! The carpet and furniture is old, very stained and dirty. Bring your own pillows! They felt like they had been stuffed with lumps of fabric.

"Not your typical hotel, but a great experience. "
Charlotte is a great modern city and the Aloft Uptown definitely reflects that spirit, but don't be put off by your initial experience. The Aloft anchors the Epicentre, an entertainment complex located right next to major corporate and banking offices. It is not your typical hotel with a drive up main entrance with bell staff to help you with your bags. If you drive there, you need to park your car at the Epicentre valet and take your bags to an elevator that will take you up to the 5th floor where the lobby is. Once you get through this learning curve everything is great. The location is excellent with entertainment and restaurants right there. The convention center and sports coliseum are just a couple blocks away. The staff is professional and friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

"nice hotel, room a little noisy"
stayed downtown for a birthday celebration. the room is nice, but nothing extreme. we were at the 11th floor and the noise of the music coming from outside was "noticeable"... as far as the rest, as usual i don't understand how after you spend 500$ per night something simple like internet (10$/night) and parking (38$ per night) are not included...

    Explore Charlotte

With its fortress-like skyscrapers and buttoned-up business district, North Carolina’s largest city looks a tad stuffy at first glance. But on weekends, it’s a different story – the Queen City knows how to play. Whitewater paddling, a roaring speedway and avant-garde museums testify to Charlotte’s wild side.

A more pious attraction is the popular Billy Graham Library, which honors the native son and revered evangelist. Inside this 40,000-acre complex, multimedia exhibits trace the pastor’s life. Things get splashier at the adrenaline-packed US National Whitewater Center, an adventure center and water park offering Class IV rapids on a man-made river. Need more speed? Catch a NASCAR race at Charlotte Motor Speedway outside town.

Refined thrills are found in Uptown, home to eye-catching decorative design at the Mint Museum and mid-century modern paintings at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. The South’s post-Civil War history takes the spotlight at the glossy Levine Museum of the New South. After museum-hopping, head to Plaza-Midwood for fancy cocktails, inspired small plates and a dive bar or two.
