Greatly improved and a much needed remodel. We have stayed at the Carolina Inn many times in the past as both of our children graduated from UNC and law school. This was the best stay ever. Lovely and very convenient to everything! Restaurant good for drinks, snacks, breakfast not great. Will be back!

True this is more of a convention center; but on weekends it transforms into a boutique hotel. Extremely comfortable with fantastic pool, Veranda, grounds and fitness center. After getting over the vastness of the property, we relaxed and had a beautiful time.

Dropped of our son at school. Friendly staff ,free parking, pool( small, indoor).
Great steak place across the street .
We had a room facing the road. Last time we stayed we faced the back which is better as less noise from traffic

Overall we were satisfied with the CH University Inn. Good value. Check-in was efficient. Coffee, cookies, lemonade and gorp at reception were appreciated. Good location. Our room on the side of the building facing away from Fordham Blvd was quiet. Breakfast room was strangely located on the second level, which had no elevator access. Emphasis on Carolina sports was a bit overdone. Would stay here again.

"Great option for Chapel Inn parents (& pet owners)"
Very good location for back and forth to Chapel Hill - close to Franklin Street and a 15 minute ride with moderate traffic. The hotel has an excellent policy for pet owners which was why I chose the hotel over my go-to brand, Hampton Inn. No pet charges! They have an area for walking dogs and poop bags supplied. The "pet wing" of the hotel is frankly a bit run down - carpet from 1970's? and my bathroom was in need of upgrading (some peeling wall paper and a greyish bath tub floor) - but it is was fine. The pool had not been cleaned of leaves and so was not as appealing as I had expected after a long hot day moving student into a dorm. Free wifi in room and we requested and got a fridge. No free breakfast but they do have a coffee station in the lobby which is appreciated. There are some great breakfast places in Chapel Hill and Carborro.

Chapel Hill is home to the University of North Carolina, the oldest state-supported university in the U.S. It is part of the state’s Research Triangle. Chapel Hill is known for its liberal, college-town ways. Nearby Carrboro has a vibrant music scene, with Cat’s Cradle being one of the top clubs in the country for live music.
