It is a older facility, but the staff was great, they have these great long red and green peppers that grow all over and my kids loved the fact they were allowed to take some. The kids were wide eyed with these peppers that looked like dragon talons. Also my kids had rescued a butterfly and the staff shared some orange juice to help feed it.

We came from Maryland to participate in a cake competition at IceFest. The hotel was fantastic! I was able to use the full kitchen in the room to put finishing touches on my cake! The hair dryer was not working and the staff was very accommodating! I called housekeeping and in less than 5 minutes, had a hairdryer at our door. Staff was friendly and courteous. Would definitely stay here again!

At the center of town sits Memorial Fountain, honoring Civil War soldiers. Downtown is also home to the Mary Ritner House, where abolitionist John Brown briefly lived, and the Old Jail, believed to have been a stop on Underground Railroad. Each July, the town celebrates its rebirth after the 1864 Confederate Burning with ChamberFest and in autumn, the area’s main crop is celebrated at AppleFest.
