Staff were friendly, hotel in a good location , the room is small as expected as per other reviews. Construction on the street was a little noisy at some points of our stay however all in all we had a good experience at this hotel! Good value for money considering the expense of other hotels in the Sydney CBD.

"Clean updated close to Sydney central station"
The staff were lovely and welcoming, even leaving their desk to assist us get our bags inside the lobby. Our room was not quite ready but they checked us in and let us leave our suitcases in their locked room whilst we went for a walk. One thing which may be a negative for some less-able travellers, is that once you leave the lift on floor one there is a group of stairs (about 5 from memory)which cannot be avoided in order to get to your room. This hotel is quite basic and fairly compact but has most things you need, small fridge, clock radio, iron and board, new wall mounted tv ,good wifi etc.. The kettle did not have an electricity outlet nearby so had to be relocated to actually use it, which seemed odd. The bed was comfy enough and the linen new and fresh. It is obviously an older hotel but has been updated with light, bright paint and classy décor. The bathroom was lovely with a large shower and updated tiles. The vanity area was small and there was not very much shelf space to put your toiletries, but for a short stay it was fine. The hotel is situated in walking distance to main shops, close to eateries and the Sydney Central Railway station. Breakfast was available for $19.95 but we left very early so did not have this. Overall if you just need a central LOCATION it is a good hotel, with friendly competent staff. We definitely would stay here again, if we needed to be near the train station and city ..

"Great staff"
The hotel is tucked away and my first impression was that I should expect to much. However the staff were fabulous. First of all I arrived way early due to my flight and even though my room wasn't ready they offered me towels and soaps etc to shower and change. I also had to print 2 pages out for a meeting in the morning, I asked them where I could go to do it and they did it for me free of charge. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Keep up the great work guys

Small bathroom with shower curtain that stuck to you! Sink was blocked. Ironing board was lumpy. Pool area very tired looking. Friend got checked into a room that was already occupied, luckily the person was not in there at the time he walked in! He was then put in a room with three single beds! Good location but the hotel is tired looking at needs an upgrade.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Castlereagh Street hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
