Lovely hotel away from Carvorio but only 6 euro taxi ride to center of town. We went B&B only as the food in the town is excellent and much better than hotel food. Great Italian down the road 5 mins walk.
Rooms are excellent and have everything you need. Rooms are 5 star. However, rest of the hotel is 3 star. Buts that's ok because you pay 3 star prices. Many reviews on here want 5 star for peanuts. I went to this hotel 6 years ago when it was new and it was 5star then. It's tired now but the price has not increased in fact it's cheaper. Fair play
I had a great time. Fabio the bar man is great

"Lovely views of the sea, walking distance to town."
Staff friendly and helpful, room and linen/towels etc clean and fresh but overall the fixtures and fittings needed refreshing and upgrading. Loose toilet seats and toilet paper holders, one shower door loose, slightly grubby bed-settee and chairs and intermittent hot water. Also the curtains were in need of a clean, albeit they weren't filthy, just needed a refresh.
Having said that, it was a good facility, great staff and housekeepers but just a bit in need of an upgrade to keep it in good to top condition. I bought a week out of season and paid consequently less. If I had paid top money I would have not been as forgiving regarding the shabby bits.

Expected a little more from a 4 star hotel - rooms are quite basic, we had a double room but had twin beds pushed together, they charge extra for most things e.g. 14 euros for a lock for your safe for a week!
Reasonably close to the beach, takes 5-10 mins to walk down the road - bit more of a distance to the main shops / restaurants area - can walk this in about 20 mins. They do have a free shuttle bus (on weekdays) but the times aren't particularly helpful the return buses only run twice at near midday and 5 pm so can't get it back after dinner so we only used it one way once.
Quite a lot of different restaurants, a lot of Italian places (probably more than portuguese) and a couple of nice beach side bars and gelado shops.
There is nightly entertainment in Carveiro centre which is sometimes quite good... the hotel entertainment, on the whole, was pretty awful!
Without hiring a car a week was definitely enough, there isn't a massive amount to do but if you just like sitting by the pool / on the beach it's fine! Also quite a nice cliff side walk.

Our stay at the resort was excellent. The facilities in the one bed apartments were more than we needed, washing machine and dishwasher as well as a large fridge freezer.
It was a 15 to 20 minute walk to town downhill and a 5 euro taxi back, there was a complimentary bus but times not very convenient for us.

We a family of 5, two teenagers and a 9 year old had a very pleasant time in Quinta Polaris II and Carveiro and would have no hesitation in recommending it for a holiday. The gentleman in reception went out of his way to be helpful, even to the extent of bringing us to the supermarket. The apartments and pool were very clean and the walk to the village was fine , steep on the way back but taxis; if the meter was on are not too expensive but can vary a lot with meter off.

Spent nearly a month there. Reception very helpful, convenient shop on site. Free transport from hotel three times a day very useful, but also nice walk into Carvoeiro. Restaurant on site and others close by, those we tried very good. Lovely outdoor pools and indoor if required. Not near beach but convenient bus calls there regularly to all beaches.

This is the second time I've stayed here and will definitely be back next year. Great apartments clustered around small pools make it very peaceful. Never had a problem getting a sunbed, but there is a larger pool if you want company. Pool towels are provided. Apartments cleaned regularly and very well equipped with cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine and TV. Only downside is that wifi is a bit 'hit and miss' so access to internet is limited. Within walking distance to centre of town (although quite a steep hill to get back up)! All in all a great place to holiday.

Rain for most of early part of the week excluded use of the pool but it looked good, only marred by leaves and debris from nearby trees. Groundsman/pool guy worked every day regardless of weather keeping all areas neat and tidy. Pool pump not used for most of week (? fault) so build up of debris made the pool uninviting. However.... Mozzies! Probably due to surrounding trees, grass and field with goats and chickens next door. Several nearby supermarkets including Aldi. Purchased a plug-in mozzie killer and no further problems within the apartment. Kitchen reasonably equipped with good size fridge and microwave, however NO OVEN! No pizzas or grill facility! Plenty of hot water at all times of the day. Went to visit several restaurants listed in local guides and recommended by friends, but found most were closed! Maybe out of season (visited early April). Apartment recommended for a fairly quiet stay with spectacular views to the north from well kept mature gardens.

At the head of a long verdant valley the popular, pretty little resort of Carvoeiro opens onto a small golden cove. Steep cliffs dotted with traditional houses rise to either side while the surrounding area has been heavily developed with low-rise apartments. Fishing boats ferry holidaymakers to less busy picture-perfect coves at Benagil, Carvalho and Marinha. Adjacent, the curious eroded rock formations of Algar Seco are worth exploring.
