Stayed here to be in Carmel area. but avoid the fog and cold of summer. Close enough to town and Point Lobos. The putting greens right outside some of the rooms were convenient (resort will provide putter and balls if needed). Did not play the course.
Resort is attractive and room was excellent: very large, good bed, nice bathroom. Breakfast was fine except no bacon/eggs/salmon. Proteins choices were yogurt and cottage cheese. May have had some gluten free options, definitely had almond milk.
Did not use heated pool. Fitness area consists of 3 (very) small but light buildings: cardio machines, weights, and yoga/stretch. Seemed sufficient.

The amazing thing about this hotel is the service from the staff. Carmel does not have large hotel and resort options. This boutique european style hotel offers incredible service and the food is delightful. we had a bottle of champagne and ordered the salad and cheese board in the courtyard. Also utilized the driver.

We loved our stay at the Carriage House Inn in Carmel! Lori and the rest of the staff were wonderful. We had breakfast delivered to our room daily. We were in walking distance of the beach, great restaurants and cute shops.

It was a really cute inn. The bed was comfortable and the jetted tub was definitely worth the extra money. I loved that they left breakfast in a small cooler outside the room so I could sleep in and still get a good breakfast. The only thing I didn't like is that the doors are really heavy and make a loud noise when they close. On both my mornings there I was woken up by others slamming their doors (or simply closing them but loudly!).

We were quite pleased with the reception at the front desk, lobby appearance and the room and its amenities. They could certainly do a better job with the k-cups provided in the rooms, however. Had we known there was a Keurig machine, we'd have brought our own....
The inn is only 20 rooms and close to everything in DT Carmel.
Our big issue with the stay was that there was a group of wedding attendees staying there. And, while the hotel says they advise everyone at check-in that there is a 10PM to 8AM Quiet Zone on the entire grounds. (Basically, it's just a parking area.) On the first evening, the group stayed in the parking lot talking loudly and disturbing everyone else. Other guest also opened their doors to tell them to quiet down. There was no cooperation from this group.
At One AM, I walked and told them to "Be quiet! and said it's one AM. The response I got, apparently from the bride was "I'm getting married tomorrow!"
The following morning, we went to reception and related the happenings of the previous evening. The receptionist, Sarah, apologized, told us about the Quiet Zone, (we hadn't been told about it) and advised us to call for the night manager should it happen again.
The party returned that evening at 10:45PM via a small bus. We allowed 15-20 minutes before calling about the noise. At 11:15, we called the first time. And, again about midnight. If anyone came from hotel management, they had no effect. Finally, again at one am, my wife went out & they left.

We loved the location, willingness of the staff to assist the guests needs and the intimate feel of the property. We arrived after normal check in times and all the restaurants in the city were closed, the staff called everyone they believed would be open, but nothing was available. Instead of saying sorry about our luck, they went above and beyond to get me a bowl of cereal, which helped. We would definitely stay here again.

Parking is difficult. The location is the best thing the Hide a Way has going for it. Rooms are clean and adequate. Their wine and cheese party was a joke; by the time we got there the wine in the twist top bottles was gone as was the cheese and one of the guests was putting all the crackers into a ziplock bag to take to her room.

Carmel-by-the-Sea attracts upscale vacationers to its inns and sandy beaches. The one-square-mile downtown resembles a small village and features antique stores, galleries, restaurants, spas, and boutiques. Carmel’s summer Bach Festival draws music lovers to its various venues, including Carmel Mission, founded in 1771 on the El Camino Real. Nearby, Pebble Beach hosts world-class golf tournaments.
