"Comfortable B&B with lots of character "
Very comfortable room, spotlessly clean. Our room had a theme of writers associated with Canterbury. Warm and friendly welcome from the owner. Good breakfast. Short walk to Canterbury city centre. Would definitely recommend.

"A Gem "
This is a cute little boutique hotel which had more amenities than expected. Everything was very clean. There was a pool big enough to do lengths in and a dry sauna. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There is an outdoor garden area with a pond which would be nice to sit around in the spring or summer. Breakfast which was included was quite good with the option of continental or a hot breakfast. They have a nice lounging area which is like a living room where you can sit and have a drink and snack. I tried to book in for a massage but there were no appointments available. I think the "spa" part of their service is fairly limited. and you won't get a spot unless you book before arrival.

"welcoming B&B full of character"
We felt welcomed from the first moment we stepped into the pub to the moment we checked out - very friendly and accommodating staff. Pub itself is a listed building so rooms compact but full of character and adequately furnished. We would definitely recommend eating in the pub one night during your stay as food excellent and new chef happy to be flexible with menu.

Great location and a real historic building (built in 1503) with quirky crooked windows and tiny doorways (mind your head!) but slightly run down. There seems to be little in the way of staffing with no real reception - you have to ring the doorbell or make a phone call to get in. The light in the bathroom didn't come on - just flickered. Reported this but nothing done about it. We were only there for one night so were able to live with it but not really good enough. Full English breakfast was tasty and well cooked and the guy taking the orders was friendly and helpful. The tea/coffee making facilities in the room were generously stocked. This hotel is a real diamond in the rough and with a little more effort could be a real gem but at the moment it doesn't quite cut it.
