Seaside is about 15 minutes away from Cannon Beach and we enjoyed our stay in this town. The beach was lovely, lots of restaurants ans stores nearby. This is the River Inn and is a short walk to the beach, this chain also has a beach front inn.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and there were many thoughtful touches. Fenced in patio with river view and fire pits. There was taffy and free cookies at check in, another small bag in our room and taffy sold by donation. Free coffee, tea and hot chocolate all day, water cooler at front entrance to fill up your bottle on the way out. Free breakfast was plentiful with many options. Kiddo enjoyed making her own hot chocolate and waffles. Free movies, bikes, games and puzzles to borrow. Pool was small but was kiddo's favourite part of our stay (not counting the DQ across the parking lot!). Room was very clean and lots of storage space.

We had a two bedroom suite - 2 separate bedrooms each containing a queen bed. Plus, there was a queen in the living area as well as a sleeper sofa. The furnishings were "well loved", but comfortable. The towels were a nice thickness.
Two blocks from the beach, across the street from the convention center, and two blocks from "downtown". Nice location.

We got a rocky start when the river view I asked for was not the room I received. However after bringing it to the staff attention they moved us the following day to a river view with a $10 per day upcharge. The room was clean and comfortable but a number of the utensils that were supposed to be in each room were missing. Other than these two issues our stay was great.

Cannon Beach's 235-foot basalt Haystack Rock attracts photographers, birdwatchers, and artists to the sandy shores of the North Oregon Coast. A thriving arts community and proximity to 1,304-acre Ecola State Park also draw visitors to Cannon Beach, located 79 miles west of Portland. Beachgoers spend their days flying kites or building sand castles and return as the sun sets to build bonfires.
