Stayed in the suite the room. It's even better than the pictures look! Comfy emperor size bed, free standing bath and ace view.
Worth every penny. Much more reasonably priced than hotels in the area and with the same quality.
The owner is nice and has decorated the traditional building perfectly. Great location for a relaxing city break.

"Good location, average facilities, faultless staff"
Location was central to many parts of Amsterdam within walking distance. Bed covers were stained and dusty on arrival, hole in the bathroom door. Staff were very friendly, polite and were genuinely interested in you.

Pocket Guide: Amsterdam City Centre Canal Ring Hotels
The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic much–photographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
