My wife and i (53 and 43 years old) have just returned from a week at the IBB Paradise Blue and we had a great time.We booked this hotel just a week before we departed due to the Lowcostholidays fiasco. After reading previous reviews of this hotel we were slightly concerned that it would not be of a particularly good standard, however we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived at the hotel at 10.30am and were expecting to be told that our room would not be ready for several hours, however we were offered a room straight away and so by 11am we were enjoying a meal in the town. The room was basic but clean and did have air-conditioning and a balcony.
The breakfast was simple but was well prepared and plentiful, and could be ate on the roof terrace which on a hot morning was very welcome. The roof terrace also contained a swimming pool and a number of sun loungers, and although there aren't a huge number of them, we never struggled to find one.
The hotel is situated near a lovely beach and bay, whilst the town, which has a good selection of restaurants and bars, is accessed up a quite steep road or alternatively up a set of steep steps. Consequently, I would not recommend this hotel to people who have fitness or mobility problems.
Other than this, as long as you are not expecting 5 star treatment for 3 star prices,i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, although maybe not if you are young and looking to go clubbing 24/7.

Great villa. Decent sized private pool. 10 min walk to supermarkets and restaurants. Longer walk to beach - def need car for that but beautiful once there. Would recommend villa serena. Clean comfortable had everything we needed and wanted for a quiet chilled relaxing holiday. Minor hiccup on arrival re key not working but swiftly sorted efficiently.

Me and my fiancé stayed at Playa Azul for a week on 30th May. We had a lovely relaxing break and would definitely recommend!
We were probably the youngest guests there, as it was a Saga hotel and aimed at the older couples. This didn't bother us though as we were there to relax and we definitely did that.
Our room was comfortable and cleaned daily, only thing missing was a fridge as it was hard to keep our water cold in the hot hot weather!! Apart from that we were really happy.
There was a lot of steps down to the beach, coming up was the hard part. But it was nice to get some excersize as we were lazing around all day!
We took a bus ride into Mahon on Tuesday, there was a market on that had the same nick nack bits on each stall, but nice to look around! A few nice shops on the walk to the harbour. I bought a few nice little tops from a Spanish shop, a little bit like a topshop. There was also a Mango.
The beach was the best bit about this holiday, it was probably the best beach me and my partner had ever been to, water was crystal clear, and white sand. We bought sunbeds and an umbrella one day, because it was 15 euros. Quite expensive, when you can just lay your towels on the sand.
We got a taxi to a from the airport, the taxi on the way to the hotel cost just over 20 euros, and the taxi back to the airport cost 17 euros.
Food was brilliant, very varied!!
All in all we had an amazing holiday! Thank you Playa Azul!
