"Nice hotel to do anything"
We were so impressed by the world class customer service provided by representative, Leanne Munro. She was so patient and helpful to us from foreign countries. She took time to help us out making reservations to all our daily activities for about a week. She was so pleasant and willing to help. She even handled our cancellation of some reservation due to our sudden change of mind by our group of 9 people. Her attitude contrast greatly with another lady representative in a different shift.

"All the staff were magnificent."
The two ladies and the young lad at the reception were not only professional but also very patient. We were a real pain in their necks but they always came back to us with a genuine smile and a real disposition to be helpful. The breakfast was too simple

"Nice hotel but far from town "
Room is good, have microwave and even stove and sink. Clean and big room. However it is far from town (close to 40 mins walk to ferry terminal). have shuttles going into town few times a day but going back can be difficult as there aren't that many taxi around (we didn't try to figure out how to ride bus). Will definitely recommend if you are driving or dont mind walking.

"Not just a hotel, a unique experience"
The Reef Encounter was the highlight of our Australian trip. The accommodations are comfortable and clean and casual. It's a great trip for anyone who wants to spend a lot of time snorkeling or diving. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was especially grateful for their patience and encouragement during the supervised dives. I also enjoyed getting to know some of the international guests on board. It did not feel overcrowded or overwhelming like large cruise ships. It is a great experience for active people at any age. It is not suitable for small children.

Pocket Guide: Cairns and Northern Beaches Cairns Hotels

Cairns is the gateway to Australia's famed Great Barrier Reef, and is a tropical getaway in its own right. Make sure to visit the Cairns Esplanade, the city's social and recreational heart. Walk, rollerblade, or cycle along the promenade. Soak up the sun or take a swim in the large saltwater lagoon. In the evening, dine in one of the many restaurants along the Esplanade.
