I've worked in the hospitality industry in Mexico for more than 15 years and I have been in many hotels for business and pleasure. This fairmont is one of the best hotels that I have stayed. The service and the hotel is impecable and the hotel is in immaculate condition. Decoration is quite nice. The whole experience couldn't have been better. Fairmont is one of the best hotels chain around the world.

Small.but comfortable room with a view and a balcony. It was a 1 minute walk from my ferry stop and in the middle of the harbor so everything was walkable and close to the hotel. Great pool and gym available. It was totally stress free from check in to check out, and they were glad to hold my luggage for the late ferry.

"A descent hotel next to the BC parlement"
This is a nice hotel very close to all activities, restaurants and BC legislative building. The only thing we didn't like much was it's outdoor pool which was small.

Huntingdon Manor Hotel

330 Quebec Street, Victoria - Map

"Cute hotel in the heart of downtown"
We stayed for 3 nights at the Huntingdon Manor. The pros: Complimentary breakfast, free covered parking, perfect location withing walking distance from the waterfront, fisherman's wharf and other tourist attractions AND pet friendly (25dlls per night). Our room was located in the first floor (pet friendly floor) and even on Canada Day we couldn't really here any noise from the streets. We had 2 big queen beds and plenty of space for our pup, although I would've loved some more closet space. I had trouble with the huge pillows that were left in our room (made my neck hurt after the first night) but the staff was nice enough to provide me with a thinner, "less fluffy" pillow when I requested it. My only complaint would be the shower. The hotel is clearly "old" and plumbing might need a bit of a revamp. Water temperature in the shower was tricky to regulate, it kept going from freezing to scorching so we had to take really quick showers to avoid discomfort. Overall a good experience.

They have free breakfast (a good one), great sized gym and as long as your on the top floors - excellent views! Highly recommend. Wifi is decent for business travellers.

"Nice hotel in middle of everything"
The staff of the Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Hotel in Victoria, British Columbia were superb professionals. Our stay in Victoria was pleasant because of these great people. The hotel is located in the middle of everything (great eateries, shopping areas, and only a few blocks away from the touristic areas). Everything is within a walking distance. Bottomline -- great hotel staff in a hotel that is within a walking distance from everything ... good hotel that is affordable.

Days Inn Victoria Uptown

This the second time that we have stayed at this hotel. It is close enough to the downtown of Victoria, but in a much quieter area near the Gorge. Check-in went smoothly. The rooms are clean and well taken care of, with the exception of a very slow drain in the bathtub. We love that there is a small kitchen area equipped with everything that you might need. The only complaint that we have is that the hotel has no elevator. That could prove to be a problem for some people who have mobility issues.

Only complaint that the a/c wasn't on and the curtains wide open to shine into the room, heating it uncomfortably.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
