Situated on Brisbane river close to parkland and the city. If you have to stay somewhere less than ten years you might be disappointed but age aside this hotel has everything, class, convenience and comfort. We had a river view room overlooking Brisbane river. Nice pool, spa and fitness facilities. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

This hotel was located in the heart of Brisbane and almost next door to the hub for transportation by bus or train. The staff was very helpful and friendly. My only disappointment was that our plan did not include breakfast. This was of course dependent on the price one paid for the room, and we were probably paying on the lower end of the scale.

Mantra hotels are reliable and a consistent chain in NZ and australia. Would highly recommend staying at any of their hotels. Location was a bit DT but we were able to walk there in 20 minutes. You can rent a city bike a few blocks away into the DT region. Close to Chinatown.

As a family of five, we found the Astor highly convenient. It was a 5 minute walk to the Queen Street mall and of course the CBD. Southbank is only a further five minutes on from there. We used the refreshing pool and spa each evening after long days walking and exploring the city. Our only complaint was the antiquated air-conditioning system used in the rooms (water cooled). With the summer sun shining on the building all day, the air con just wasn't up to par and resulted in quite a few nights tossing and turning because of the heat.
Other than that we enjoyed our stay and if there is an upgrade to the air con (or its during the cooler season) , we will stay again.
