"Business two nights"
Doing a show at the Macron, booked late couldn't get one closer. Recently taken over, not Mercure now. Nice hotel, nice bar, decent food, good breakfast, but overall quite expensive. Only minus was reception being under staffed, it needs two people.

"Ironman UK"
I selected the hotel because of its rating and proximity to the Macron Stadium, which provided the "race village" for Ironman UK. The hotel staff were ready to support the ironman event; they provided an early breakfast on race day (0300), and were "relaxed" about triathletes traipsing kit through the hotel. I would have liked a room with AC and a bath, and the decor was a little tired, but it was clean and quiet; precisely what I needed. I would thoroughly recommend esp. for ironman participants.

"Centrally located and easily located "
Entrance location at first entry was challenging to find. Driveway and parking or outer court can be renovated. Entrance bar was a bit slow to function. Staff was cooperative and professional; With the exception of my first entry to the room where the chair was a bit messy the rest was pleasing. I was satisfied with the accommodation and the staff responsiveness to my needs. keep up the good work and always seek to improve your facility and efficiency of your staff; wish you all the best.

"No complaints - especially for the money"
I got about the last room in the Manchester area for less than about £100 plus a night. Those in the centre were pushing £300 plus and seeing the reviews to date I was not expecting much. However, OK it looks a bit dated relative to more modern holtels and the outside did not inspire much, but the room was clean and comfortable and being at the back away from the motorway surprisingly quiet. OK the TV was about the size of an A4 sheet but did the job although doubt watching Euro 2016 would have been much fun. Coffee and tea provided too. I may have been lucky with my room, but based on my experience I would certainly book again.

    Pocket Guide: Manchester Bolton Hotels

Bolton, 10 miles north-west of Manchester, is home to the neoclassical Bolton Town Hall, which opened in 1873. An earlier addition to the town is Ye Olde Man and Scythe pub, which dates from 1251, and is one of the oldest public houses in Britain. Bolton Wanderers play their football at the Reebok Stadium, and comedian Peter Kay has based much of his work on the town and its people.
