This hotel dazzles your mind from the historic plaque on this gorgeous building then into the lobby to check in and the marble floors and high ceilings and spectacular lighting. The bar is spacious yet cozy and Chris was greatest bartender in the world. Our room was small in comparison to the younger hotels but it didn't lack in comfort. The bed was oh so comfortable as were the pillows. The Magnolia family made our anniversary more memorable by placing champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room when we retired. We are planning to return next year! Thank you for helping make our anniversary the greatest.

Nice old hotel with very nice staff. This is a cheap hotel, so expect a hard bed (by far the worst part, and it's bearable), a literal key to your room (they have old style locks rather than card keys), and limited breakfast options (though the breakfast does include hot options such as biscuits and gravy for free, so there is that). Unlike what Expedia tells you, this is a bit of a drive on at least 2-3 freeways to get to the correct part of Council Bluffs, and the outside looks sketchy as it's obviously old and behind a thrift store by the freeway. However, I had no safety concerns at alll, the staff was wonderful, and check in and check out were painless.

This is a pretty good place to stay if you are looking for a reasonably priced place to sleep for the night. The staff is helpful and friendly. It was close to the interstate and also to downtown attractions which was convenient. It does the job just fine if all you are looking for is a bed for a few hours of rest.

On our way through town & decided to visit your casino. Was very enjoyable just wish it was a TOTAL non-smoking casino. The smoke free area was very small and located directly next to smoking slots with ash trays so people could sit directly next to you and blow smoke in the direction of the non smoking area. Made NO sense.
Best thing we did go away dollars ahead. We left happy until we smelled our cloths. :)
