"Nice hotel fairly close to Luton Airport"
This 3* hotel was fine for our overnight before flying from Luton Airport..about 10 minutes drive away. Rooms are small but have everything you need. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel restaurant...small menu but enough choice and cooked well. The restaurant and bar are just off the lobby so it's not especially private but again perfect for a 1 night stay.

Very nicely furnished premier room but a bit small and too much furniture for its size. Breakfast was ok but laid out a bit like a works canteen. Staff very nice and friendly. Lovely location by a lake.

"Not an airport hotel"
The hotel's fine, although don't believe them when they offer to give you a wake up call. I wasn't called. Nor were others I met that morning in the lobby. Thank God for iPhone alarm clocks. Also, most importantly, this is not an airport hotel. It took half an hour in a taxi to get there from Luton. Also, if you're expecting to get there by taxi from Luton Airport, be aware the system at Luton is corrupt. A limo company somehow bribed Luton town council to make all other companies illegal for passenger pick up at the airport. So the fare from Luton to Chiltern Hotel, one way, is 21 pounds. I learned later that regular taxis (and I took one back in the morning) charge 10 pounds. Uber charges 6. There are several hotels literally adjacent to the airport, but for some reason Expedia doesn't list them. Weird.

"Opulence and Grandeur "
Fantastic hotel and brilliant staff. I am not normally a moaner and this is only for information only for the hotel management as I have already given the hotel five stars. When a family arrive with three young kids, it would be great if one of the three concierge chaps could take the case. Don't market a large bedroom as a suite just because there is a sofa in it. It is unacceptable to wait an hour for food in the lounge at 6pm just because the hotel have double and treble booked afternoon tea, by the way the chap who served us was a delight to deal with. Soundproof the rooms a bit more and tell the security chap it isn't a good idea to stand outside peoples rooms for 5 minutes at 6.30am with his radio blaring. Loved the stay though and it was a privilege to stay with you.

"Better than expected"
We stayed for 2 nights as we attended the Wings and Wheels air show at Old Warden. The hotel has lots of character, very close to the river, plenty of parking, but little road noise. The breakfast was very nice, but if you arrive late you may have to wait whilst they top up. If you don't want your egg scrambled, ask, and they will prepare a different way. We didn't eat our evening meal in the restaurant, but did have a bar meal the second day, which was fine. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. There was a wedding both days, which didn't impact on us, but I think the waiting staff in the bar were newish. They were fine, and obviously eager to please. The room was comfortable, plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. No fridge. Didn't use the shower as we had baths so can't comment on how powerful the shower was. I was glad I took my own toiletries as only a small shampoo, soap and shower gel provided. Water was very, very hot. Room was quite hot so we opened the windows the second night. Being Monday morning we did get a little road noise, but nothing to complain about. Refuse lorry was noisy, but can't really complain about that. I do have a thing about towels. Why is it when I try to save on washing, and hang up my towels, the housekeeping staff insist on replacing them with clean ones? This seems to happen in most hotels, despite having notices asking people to 'help the environment'.

"Close to Luton Airport"
Very reasonably priced but needs upgrading. The bedroom was well equipped with plenty of clean towels and the air-conditioning worked well. The kettle only worked if I held it on the stand until the water boiled! The bathroom was very clean and the bedlinen crisp and clean. The bed was comfortable and the room very quiet. Breakfast was basic but as it only cost £5 I was reasonably satisfied.

Bedfordshire is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Bedfordshire, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Bedfordshire hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
