The staff was very nice. The only nice rooms were on the top two floors closest to the beach. The rooms and lobby were updated and clean. It was a bit noisy withthin walls and screaming small children on the second floor but the top floor was lovely. The barking dog on the pool level was annoying especially since the hotel doesn't allow pets. It was clearly not a service dog. It roamed freely off leash barking at guests and tinkling in the bushes. Staff were aware and walked right by.

Gorgeous setting and authentic craftsman decor. Huge rooms. The staff continually went above and beyond our every expectation, especially Ahmed at the pool. He should teach courses on how to make guests feel special and truly pampered. We loved that the spa's sauna, steam room, aromatherapy room and relaxation room were complimentary. The food food, even by the pool, was amazing, with great presentation. And don't miss the nature preserve just steps away. We hiked it twice at sunset. Perfect mother-daughter time!

During warm weather, crowds pack the waters off Mission Beach and Pacific Beach, two of the most popular stretches of San Diego sand. These laidback locales are known to host the occasional farmer’s market or arts festival. Mission Boulevard connects both beaches and leads north to La Jolla.
