Nice comfortable king room. Water in the shower did not get very hot. The refrigerator was plugged in and was able to keep my food cold. Continental breakfast was ok. I enjoyed the raisin bread the most. Weak coffee and juice. There is a Denny's next door which is nice. Lady in the office was friendly and helpful.

If you are expecting a full service luxury stay this is not it - this is for folks who want a little bit of community, adventure, and funky atmosphere. To be clear, I am the latter, and I had a blast.
I chose the room with the centrally located bathtub on purpose (#7 Birds Nest) - it was BIG and definitely the highlight of our stay. There was a wood burning stove in there, so be ready to set and maintain a fire in the winter months. The kitchen barstools share space with the adorable vanity, which abuts the bathtub. Breakfast is served at a family table in the main house every morning at nine - get prepared for conversation with strangers from all over the place over a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon, pancakes and fruit. If you're lucky you'll get the Batman mug!
The space is adorable and seems to basically be a cobbled nest of suites off of a main house. My room had French doors that opened into a nice patio with a table and chairs and blackberries along the fence. The furniture was old antiques - a bit dusty in a way that reminded me of home.
The internet worked great up in the main area where you can hang out on the porch, but it wasn't very useful down in the Birds Nest (likely the farthest suite from the main area, on the bottom level down a hill). My girlfriend and I had fun trying out Cable TV instead.
This was my first out-of-city vacation as an out queer person with my girlfriend. We were delighted that another lesbian couple was there with their their children.

Bass Lake is a US Forest Service-designated Recreation Area in the Sierra Nevada, about 14 miles from the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park. The southern shore of the lake is lined with campgrounds and picnic areas. In summer months, swimming and water-skiing are popular; and a family-friendly fishing tournament is held annually.
