Needed a place to stay the night in the area. Avonlea was just what we needed: right off highway, walking distance to town for dinner (nice after spending hours in car), clean comfortable room and excellent full English breakfast!

Great vibe in the pub on a Friday night. Lots of locals here for early doors dirnks in the garden on a nice sunny evening. We stayed a night with family and had a good time. Staff flexible to needs and gave good service with a smile. Food in restaurant was spot on for our needs. Well done.

Hotel room was extremely hot even with fan and window open. Bar staff (the girls) were extremely helpful on all occasions. I think the manager needs to be more hands on. When we left we had to leave our room cards on bar as no one around to even ask us if we had enjoyed our stay and our bill not ready when ask at breakfast and they had to ask us what we had. Breakfast was a little cold and only offered one cup of coffee. There are more positives than negatives but for the price charged would expect more attention to detail.

My family often go to Banbury as we used to live there and have lots of friends in town. As the children are now strapping teenagers we can't impose on guest bedrooms and spare couches any longer. The apartment was stunning, very clean and nicely turned out, everything was new or well kept. The cleaner was lovely and unobtrusive. Perfect location in town. Fantastic facilities in the apartment, including dishwasher, wi fi, TV, DVD, music centre etc. Only a couple of things stopped it being perfect; the water tank did not hold enough hot water for 4adults to shower consecutively, so we had to stagger the showers, it was very hot inside the flat (heating was def not on!), also as there were 2 double beds, instead of a double and 2 twins, my son had to sleep on the couch. But we were v impressed overall and will probably use it every time we go to Banbury.

Banbury is a bustling market town in North Oxfordshire. It is known largely for its famed Banbury Cakes, and for the old English nursery rhyme, Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross. There remains a cross in the town centre along with a statue of the lady on her horse. Nearby Cropredy, 4 miles along the Oxford Canal, hosts one of Britain's biggest folk festivals every August.
