The hotel is a beautifully renovated and maintained small palace, literally in the shadow of the papal palace. We had a particularly lovely room (26) overlooking a courtyard. The rooms are comfortable, pretty (lots of florals) and up to date. The public rooms, including an enclosed court and a library-style space, are very nice for tea or a drink. The staff is both competent and very nice. All in all, a very well-managed property in a charming city.

Hotel Danieli was under construction during our stay. Electrical outlets were uncovered, trim was missing, walls were partially wallpapered, doors were partially painted, carpet and tiles were stacked in the hallways.
The parking discount was useless because the parking attendant was not there when we were exiting the garage, and it is a manual process, not something that can be done in the autopay machines.
But the staff was wonderfully helpful with swapping around rooms, advising on restaurants and places to run, etc.

We stayed in Avignon for one night prior to a bike n barge trip. This hotel was perfect for our needs. Easy walk from the train, and a very good location in town. One word of caution. The least expensive rooms are 'walk up'. Our friend's had to haul their luggage up 4 flights of stairs. Our room was about $110/nt and we had an elevator to our room. I would stay here for a long time is that was my plan. It is nice, clean, very quiet, and friendly.

Autour du Petit Paradis enjoys a central but quiet location in the historic centre of Avignon. Well-placed for sightseeing without itself being in the most 'touristy' part of town. Great shops and restaurants on the doorstep. Really helpful, friendly proprietors, too. Accommodation is in no way luxurious, but more than adequate and well-equipped. Very useful to have a kitchenette with fridge.

Historic and stylish, Avignon’s highlights are the beautifully preserved ramparts, a huge medieval fortress, and the monumental Palais des Papes, recalling Avignon’s 14th-century papal seat prestige. Made famous in a children’s nursery rhyme, its medieval bridge is also a top attraction, although only four arches remain of the original 22. It’s also famous as a city of performing arts and hosts a spectacular Summer Festival.
