"Pamper yourself and stay here!"
Bussaco Palace Hotel was recommended by friends who stayed there previously some years ago and we weren't disappointed. A beautiful old building, 100+ years, and with old buildings showing some age spots. In the bathroom of our room, someone had dropped the shower head and the enamel in the tub was chipped. Also, being the end of the season, it is time to change out the mattress... worn and uncomfortable. The carpet also showed "cleaning" spots. However, to stay here is a lovely experience and we thourougly enjoyed it. The Bussaco wine is excellent, the dinner well presented and served and the wait staff very attentive to food allergies. The breakfast was very good value for the money. We would definitely stay here again!

"Beautiful hotel in downtown"
The hotel in the reception area welcomed us with Port and Ovos Moles de Aveiro, a delicious egg yolk candie. The hotel is very attractive and comfortable with parking. Would definitely go back.

"Lovely hotel in perfect location"
We booked this hotel because we were spending the last few days of our holiday in the Porto region in Aveiro. We could not have picked a better hotel. The room was comfortable and spacious, the reception staff were friendly, knowledgeable and had excellent English, and the breakfasts delicious. We had a lovely room overlooking the square and the canal - we would recommend asking for a room at the front. Although the street outside and the square were buzzing through the day - the square was the meeting place for the elderly townspeople in the early evening - everything quietened down later in the evening and our room, although on the first floor, was peaceful and quiet at night. Aveiro itself is very easy to reach by train - it's on the main line between Porto and Lisbon and local and express trains stop there. The town itself is charming to stroll around and a trip on the canal on a moliceiro is a must! There are interesting short trips that can be made using the local buses - to Costa Nova on the Atlantic coast and to the beautiful Maritime Museum at Ilhavo, for example.

"Great location, friendly staff and value for money"
The hotel is located very close to the historical centre, literally just across the canal. We had a studio which was well equipped with cooking facilities and a fridge. The room was quite spacious overlooking the canal. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The lift was a bit funny, small and made out of glass, more cute than helpful but it worked and served the purpose. There is a lovely veranda between the breakfast room and the reception lounge, it is set within the building walls so not overlooking anything but anyway a pleasant breakfast setting. There are quite a few nice eateries nearby not to mention the canal with the boats. Overall, we were happy with the hotel for our quick stop in Aveiro and have only good things to say!

"Twenties class"
A stunning hotel with plenty of period features. The staff were always very courteous and helpful. Most spoke excellent English. The restaurant was very good with a good selection at the breakfast buffet and tasty choices for dinner. The only criticism was the bed as it was a little uncomfortable with quite a firm mattress.

"Well presented hotel "
Nice interior design and nice laid out hotel. Stayed for a few days with a young child and staff were accommodating and helpful. Food room services could have had a wider select but the swimming pool saved the day when a friend came to visit us.

"Close to the centre of down town Aveiro "
This hotel could be improved no end if there was a little more enthusiasm by the staff. The staff were polite and friendly but not welcoming. Our room was small but comfortable The biggest disappointment was the Breakfast it was a bit halfhearted e.g. milk for the cereal was not chilled it was room temperature, not good enough, the coffee on offer was over brewed from a hand pumped flask, and was lukewarm. To sum up this hotel was just lukewarm, but with a lot of potential. New management maybe.

Aveiro District is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Aveiro District, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Aveiro District hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
