Ignore the smokers around the front as there aren't too many and not too smoky.
Avoid the "no elevator" problem by shifting to first floor.
Continental breakfast did the job, especially if you like fresh waffles.
Easy access to I69, lot o' restaurants nearby, and a Wal Mart for forgotten travel toiletries.

Stayed while attending an event in Fort Wayne. Loved the porch and the room. Room and bathroom were very clean. The room is well equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave and nice TV with HBO and free WiFi. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was decent.
There are two stories with no elevator. Not a problem for us, but information may be valuable to others. The hallways probably are due for renovation as the carpet looked worn and stained. (The room condition, as stated earlier was excellent). We had a difficult time locating the hotel. When you turn south on Touring Drive access to the hotel is an immediate right turn past the Arby's.
I'd have no problem recommending this hotel to friends and would stay there again if the opportunity presents itself.

I read the other "gripey reviews" and decided to book anyway and form my own opinion. Here is the truth. The motel style is very desirable to me. Easy to load and unload. The location was very convenient. And the price was, I thought, extremely reasonable. Yes there was some noise from a train. But that didn't bother me. Yes the motel itself is somewhat dated. But once again that didn't bother me. We had everything we needed and it was clean and comfortable for a great price. The heating and cooling unit for the room worked almost too well. I have stayed at higher end places where this system was on it's last leg. The microwave, the TV and the mini fridge were also in great shape and looked brand new. The staff was also very friendly. The complementary breakfast was adequate, especially when you consider the price. The same style of breakfast is offered at other places that charge alot more. I felt that it was a fairly priced, decent place to stay if you don't require the Taj Mahal with a full wait staff and personal chef. If I visit my friends in Indiana next year. I already know that I will stay at Days Inn again. Thank you Days Inn for making my affordable stay pleasant and enjoyable. The money I saved here enabled me to maximize my vacation dollars and do more. Thanks again.
