The staff at this hotel is incredible. They go above and beyond what is expected. I have never had the level of service at a any level hotel that I had at Country Inn and Suites. Ashland is about 4 miles away and is a lovely little town.

This is a basic, no-frills motel in the suburbs of a large city. Ideal for the cost-conscious traveler. The free breakfast was disappointing, with very few things to choose from. Overall, a good value for the price.

Keep in mind, you get what you paid for. If you expecting super duper, top quality accommodations, you are going to be disappointed. If you are looking for a bed with a TV and Wi-Fi for a night, this place is perfect. For my purposes, the bathroom and bed sheets were clean. The pillows had better days; they could be replaced. There was a hole in my window treatment; I'm guessing it was an over site. The hole was not all of the way through. They need to re-caulk the area around the sink. But other than that I was satisfied with my arrangements, especially considering the circumstances.

"Good hotel for a 1 night stay going to or from FL"
This hotel was clean and neat although the decor is dated. I was only looking for something like this to stay one night on a trip back from FL. It seemed like a decent area - better location than the last hotel I stayed at in Petersburg, VA. The bed was overly soft but I was able to sleep OK. -- With a little effort and expense by management this room could have been made more pleasing but it was OK for 1 night.

Originally developed by RF&P Railroad as a resort for Richmonders, trains still run through Ashland. The visitor’s center is a 1920s train station in the heart of downtown. Beautiful historic houses, antique shops, and unique eateries are some of the town’s attractions. Ashland is also home to Randolph-Macon College. A farmer’s market is open downtown on Saturday mornings from May to November.
