This hotel was a surprise. I was expecting something a tiny bit better than a motel 6. We walked into a beautiful trip to the past. Wonderful furnishings and a great bed made our visit special. We will definitely stay here again.

We were visiting the casinos in the area and decided to spend the night. We went to the hotel and the desk person was very pleasant. We had a great conversation. I went to my room, showered and slept very nicely.
The sink water valves were connected backwards, so the hot water, that is supposed to be on the left, is connected to the right side valve. This is not a problem, but it detracts from the five star remodeling job of the bathroom shower area.

Under new management. Will take some time to get everything under control. The gentleman in charge of the breakfast (which is free) is super. He takes great pride in what he does and is very helpful and pleasant at all times.
Be sure to try this continental breakfast which turns out to be good food and plenty of it..
This is not a location for the handicapped. Two floors and no elevator. Very steep driveway to upper parking lot.
Interior remodeling was underway and it was noisy with sawing of floor tiles that went on until 10:00pm. Likely this does not happen often? Other than that it is very quiet except for street noise in the front rooms, which they management tells you about in advance. The rooms are authentic to the Victorian era with real period furniture in every room.

Our family of 4 needed a one night stay in our way to North Callie, we choose Sutter Creek and the Days Inn according to ratings. This a good place in a very interesting and historical county. A lot of stuff to visit.
The 4 stars is because everything was exactly as expected for the Hotel category. For us 5 is above expectations.
We would definitely recommend the place for everybody and for as long as wanted.

The quiet little town of Angels Camp is nestled in the Sierra foothills between Yosemite and Lake Tahoe, on California’s scenic “Golden Chain” Highway 49. Founded in 1848, the town was a booming mining town between 1880 and 1920. Many of the original buildings from the mid-1800s still line Main Street. The Calaveras County Fair, famous for its Jumping Frog Jubilee, is just outside of town.
