Was give a smoking room despite of booking a non smoking. I was told due to the rates which I get on Expedia we have the last preference in room selection. I had stayed at 4 places all were a 3rd floor accommodation.

Marble bathrooms, coffee and tea, great restaurant, quiet...I could not love this hotel more. And it is three short blocks to the river where there is an awesome walking/running path. Tons of restaurants and shops right outside the door and a drug store. Seriously it is awesome!

What stood out in particular to me was customer service Representation.
At check-out, I was greeted with a warm hello and questioned as to how I enjoyed my stay. Very warm, concern and cheerful. That to me, means a great deal.

We booked our room on-line at the last minute while traveling north. Hilton did a good job of preparing our room for our stay. Although the room spelled musty and of stake cigarette smoke, it soon dissipated as the HVAC circulated the air. The room was nicely furnish and comfortable. There were only 4 small skimpy pillows for the King size bed.
The location offers little to do. If you want to go to Old Town Alexandria or DC, you'll need to drive or take other transportation. Be forewarned, parking is NOT free but cost $24.00 for a one night stay, despite their being plenty of available space.
There's no free breakfast, and the only dining option on site is a Fin & Porter restaurant. The food was only average despite being overpriced and the service horrible (maybe it was a bad night).

Eminently walkable, Old Town Alexandria offers a glimpse of early America through its 4,000 historic homes and businesses. Many visitors begin their tour at the Ramsey House Visitors Center, near the center of Old Town. One highlight is The Athenaeum art gallery, a Greek Revival structure where legendary Civil War Gen. Robert E. Lee once banked. Don’t miss Mount Vernon, George Washington’s estate.
