I recently spent a night at Hotel Hvide Hus in Aalborg. The hotel is overall in good condition and is well-appointed.
I checked in late at night and was greeted by a very friendly and courteous receptionist. She gave me a room on the 8th floor (#807) with a view of the park ("Kildeparken") and the city center. The room (Superior class) has a queen size bed which in my opinion was too soft.
The room also features a work desk, a comfortable sitting area including couch and chair, as well as a flat screen TV with a variety of channels (20). The bathroom was remodelled and in good condition (the only thing that perhaps was missing was a shower curtain). Most notable is the view from the large balcony which spans the entire length of the room.
As the hotel is located at a major intersection, you will probably hear a bit of street noise inside the room. However, I was able to block the noise with earplugs so it was not a big problem.
Breakfast was included in my rate and it featured all of the essential elements of a good full-size breakfast. Nothing too fancy but overall good.

The staff at this hotel are just wonderful! Very friendly and helpful, they gave good information about the local area and all have excellent English. The rooms are large and clean. Breakfast is nothing special but it was tasty and well presented. Free tea and coffee during the day from reception was a nice touch. The gym is larger than normal for a hotel but several machines need servicing and a few free weights would be useful.

A good place to stay with a family. The rooms are clean and adequate, the buffet breakfast is fantastic and the evening meal offer good quality and value for money. If we visited Aalborg again we would stay here again.

The hotel room was small and basic, a twin, but it was clean and functional. The pool and sauna were really nice and the free wifi was a bonus. There was no noise at night and so I slept well.
I liked the fact that the hotel was situated out of the town centre in a nice area. It only took just over 30 minutes to walk to the zoo and around 40 for the centre of Aalborg.
I asked for gluten free breakfasts and the hotel kindly baked me a loaf of gluten free bread (but didn't provide a separate carving knife and expected me to use the knife used to cut the gluten containing bread). There was no gluten free cereal, but I was able to eat some of the hot food (bacon and eggs), yogurt and fruit which was very tasty.
The staff spoke good English which was appreciated as I needed some help and advice regarding my stay in Aalborg.
The hotel wasn't cheap so the room was a bit dissapointing, but I suspect that this was due more to the high cost of most things in Denmark.

Aalborg has transformed itself from an industrial hub to a pleasant college town. Its waterfront features the futuristic Utzon Center cultural complex. In contrast to this 21st-century landmark, go to the Jens Bangs House, a Renaissance mansion across from the Town Hall. A short walk from the city center is a slice of Africa: the Aalborg Zoo is home to 140 animal species, from aardvarks to zebras.
