"Nice hotel in great location! "
We only stayed here for one night - and after having a little trouble finding the hotel - the address number is very small and we were looking for the words Vieux Port rather than Residence (which is very clearly noted on the outside of the hotel) - we were very pleased with the two rooms we booked. The junior suite was on a higher floor and had a terrific view of the Port and the Ferris wheel and all the activity on the main drag. The deluxe room was smaller on a lower floor with a lesser view - but still very nice. They provide bathrobes and slippers and washclothes (a nice touch as most of the hotels in france don't!!) The breakfast was excellent with a large variety of foods to choose from - it's extra but worth it. Management was very helpful. Restaurants, cafes, buses, are all right outside your door. A great place to stay in Marseilles!

"Excellent location"
The hotel is in a perfect location across the street from the metro, the bus stop to Notre Dame, and the marina. Many restaurants, gelato shops, and bars around the corner in either direction along the marina or if you want more like fast food eats just head a block or two away from the marina. Our room and bathroom were very large and clean as well. I recommend this hotel.

"Modern hotel, conveniently located on the old port"
This modern hotel was well situated in the old port area of Marseilles, although at one end and a good 10 to 12 minutes from the metro station that has a stop at the train station. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The attached restaurant was convenient, but expensive for what was served. There was also a small, but attractively situated pool.

"Lovely hotel"
We enjoyed our four day stay. The hotel is close to everything as well as being on the bus route to the Old Port and the station. Nice pool area, comfortable room and very helpful front desk staff. The breakfast was simple, but okay.

"Good Location"
The location was perfect close to restaurants and shops with an abundance of public transport on the doorstep. Our room looked out over the port, which we paid extra for, with a MacDonalds next door where you can get tea & coffee which was useful given there wasn't a kettle in the room however we did have a fridge. We only had breakfast at the hotel once as we were disappointed with it and felt it wasn't worth the 14 Euros so we found a lovely cafe around the corner. The room was clean though had signs of wear and tare. i.e. a cigarette burn on the bedside cabinet and the side panel on the bath moved if you knocked it. The beds were clean and comfortable. Double glazing was good at keeping the noise down from of the hustle & bustle of the port. The staff were pleasant enough though not too forthcoming. All in all for the price we paid we were quite satisfied and enjoyed our stay.

"Nice small hotel in old quarter"
Easy walk to vieux port. Lots of info in foyer. Friendly staff. Smiled nicely at our poor French! Minor points - small rooms, rather shabby bathroom shower and 1 of our rooms' A/C did not work.

"Hotel by Vieux Port"
Hotel advertise as New Hotel Vies Port however nothing is new, maybe a new owner! I like the mini junior suite type room, separate living area and bedroom. Only 50 feet to Metro and 100 feet to Vieux Port. You can't beat the location. No port view but turn the corner the Ferris Wheel and the port is in your face. The Bad: Furnishing look tired. Needs new mattress, it sags. Hallway and elevators looks original from many decades ago. No air conditioner. I say that because air conditioner does not work. It has 30-40 years old Honeywell control and does not work! About 5 month ago when I was considering this hotel someone complained that Air Conditioner did not work. Well by now I thought it would be fixed. It get very warm in Marseilles, there is no excuse.

"Quirky but chic hotel"
We found it an enjoyable and stimulating place to stay. The restaurant was very good, and clearly favoured by chic youngsters (we are not chic or young but were nevertheless made to feel welcome). There is an erotic theme in some of the decor etc. and we found this entertaining but some people might be concerned about bringing young children. The only negative point is that we found the duvet very hot and so had to keep the room cold through the night in order to sleep comfortably.

2nd Arrondissement is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in 2nd Arrondissement, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your 2nd Arrondissement hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
