Horror Movie
I have had nightmares about this place ever since I stayed there. Its horrifying. The owner was very rude and actually farted whilst talking to me. I could tell just by looking at him that the room would be filthy. And I was right. It looked like a scene out of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. And that includes the owner! Wouldn't surprise me if this place gets closed soon as it isn't fit for humans to stay in. Awful.

The reincarnation of Fawlty Towers
Being a fairly well travelled person, I've stayed in many budget hotels and guest houses from Barcelona, Amsterdam, and now Torquay. This really had to be the worst of them all (and surprisingly the most expensive). When we arrived, there was a smell of an unclean house and we were greeted by a grunting man (think Neanderthal) who showed us to our room. We weren't shown where the bathroom or the toilet were, I had to find that on my own. The bathroom window was being held open by an 'original source shower gel' bottle and on more than one occasion, I went in to find a floater still in there! We decided to spend as little time as possible in there and so left just after we got there and went back out after breakfast. The breakfast was good although the OJ, which is in a jug for everyone to help themselves, went quickly and wasn't replenished. My partner decided to have a rest on the afternoon of arrival and I had a look through the bible (as you do!) to be greeted by dust mites!! There were dead ones, alive ones, big ones. Just wandering around the drawer. I had a lie down and I found a bed bug on the bed, my partner said 'it's just a bed bug' but I didn't pay x amount to sleep with bed bugs! The room had thick dust in crevices which hadn't seen a vacuum for some time (I've lived in my house for 3 years and even the parts my vacuum can't get to isn't quite that bad!).I didn't want to write something bad about this place as the couple who run it are really nice, I cannot fault their hospitality, but something needs doing about it or people will not want to go there, or return. Again though, I didn't pay to make friends, I have enough friends!Would not recommend, will not return. There's other budget hotels in the area that I cannot comment on as I haven't visited but they are probably clean and looked after, this one isn't!

Hell Hole!
My partner and I were booked in here for a week, looked rather nice and pleasant on their website but how wrong were we. As soon as we entered the hall we were over powered by the smell of cat/dog wee, however, we wasn¿¿¿t prepared for the horrors that awaited us in our room. The ceiling was falling down in one corner, damp I am presuming, as the shower was full of mould and I wasn¿¿¿t brave enough to check the toilet. There was wallpaper hanging off, papering over paper and the light above the bed was hanging and obviously didn¿¿¿t work. While feeling rather shocked I checked all the draws, hoping they would be cleaner but in fact made our minds up that we would not be staying. There was hair, dirt and god knows what growing around the edges. The cups hadn¿¿¿t been washed, floors not hoovered and a sweet wrapper found by the bed. At this point my partner was ringing round other guest houses to try and find us a room as there was absolutely no way we would be spending our holiday here so fortunate for us, we managed to find another hotel and within minutes we were gone, greeted by the host who asked if all was ok," NO" we replied and said we couldn¿¿¿t stay here, she asked no more and we were on our way. This guest house should not be advertised and I¿¿¿d be ashamed of showing any guests to these rooms. Dirty, Smelly and damn right degrading.

Stay well away
Thought we had found a good deal, but from the moment we walked thru the door, we knew this place couldn't get even get a 1 star rating in Afghanistan, as soon as we entered the building all we could smell was wet dog, we was shown to are room and as soon as we entered we felt dirty, the sink still had tooth paste spit marks in it, the bin was half full and to top it all off, The sheets hadn't been changed and there was pubic hair in it, I immediately complained and was given a better room in a word, the sheets was clean and the towels clean, but the skirting boards hadn't seen a duster since it was first buIlt, there was wall paper hanging from the ceiling, the net curtains we'er filthy and the curtains looked like they had been used for a hand towel, this room was better in the fact it had its own shower and toilet, but the shower had more mold than I've ever seen and I'm a plumber, the toilet was ok tho, all thru the building the carpets hadn't been hoovered in donkeys. Once we saw the owner she apologized for us being given the wrong room and she was really nice, so nice that we didn't want to write this review, but we think that others need to stay clear, we never had the breakfast here, we felt that if the rooms and hallways was this unkept that we really didn't trust what the kitchen looked like, but again the owner was really Nice.

Ok hotel but wouldnt recommend
The owners are really friendly and the breakfast was nice. Room not great. Shower was full of mould and needed a good scrub and the shower curtain was old with black mould on it. It was the quickest shower ever. There was a tv but couldnt get a signal and limited stations 2 watch when there was a signal. Wall paper hanging off. The bedding was old and didnt match with the pillow slips. paid 90 pnds 4 2 nights b&b which isnt cheap. loved torquay and would go back but not in this guesthouse.
