Enjoyable stay
If I start by making it known, I am not a lover of BB usually and prefer hotels, I was plesantly surprised at how welcoming the experience was and what a couple of great nights sleep we all had. Was a bit ricky to find initially, but it is in the "chestnuts" area of the high street. We had room 1 and 3. One tiny detail, was the fact I took my unsteady elderly mother, so the stairs were a challenge but not insurmountable by any means. The rooms were clean, shower hot in my room and pleasantly powerful. Tea making facilities available, lots of supplies, a rest room to relax, tasteful furnishings and extremely comfortable beds. BB was clean and building full of character as promised. Breakfast was fine, no grease, tasty and suitable sized portions. Nice eating area too. What makes this BB are your hosts, warm reception, not in your face but relaxed couple. Bob very friendly but his wife working in the background, make the perfect hosts. They supply wifi, best used in the rest area, not because of any fault of the BB, but signals in this part of the world, both phone and tinternet are rare. Luckily I took my own dongle. But suspect wifi and phone signals poor in the cotswolds generally. Would I stay again? Yes probably would for a relaxing break even though not a BB lover/user. But if I was, these are the couple I want running it.

Nice Bed & Breakfast In Picturesque Setting
Recently back from a family break in the Cotswold's where we had an enjoyable stay at Chestnuts B&B.The Chestnuts is located in the heart of picturesque Bourton-on-the-Water and was an excellent base for our trip. There's no doubt that the hotel has plenty of character, being originally built in the 18th century, it made a nice change from the faceless standardized corporate chain hotels of nowadays. As for our stay, myself, girlfriend and her 2 boys had the family room. It was a good size with a decent double and 2 singles (no makeshift beds or anything), the bathroom also being a reasonable size too. My mum and girlfriends parents were also with us and they too had good comments about their respective rooms.A nice touch was having the family room right next door to a tv lounge area, meaning we could put the boys to bed and still have an opportunity to all relax with a well earned glass of wine and chat.Breakfasts were good, decent choice of cereals, well cooked full English and plenty of toast to follow.Niggles, the car park was small but you do get a designated spot, although it did mean parking just off the main road. There also seemed to be a milk strike on, because the milk jug on the breakfast table was the smallest i've seen, meaning we were always requesting more milk, there was never enough for cereals, teas etc. which was a tad annoying. However, the positives far outweigh any negatives and i'd certainly have no hesitation in recommending The Chestnuts if you're planning a visit to this neck of the woods.

A Bed abd Breakfast full of Character
The Chestnuts, we were told by the owner is over 300 years old, it is quaint and quirky with sloping floors and old beams, and a delight to stay there. The owners are most welcoming and gave us many ideas on where to visit on our trip, there is also car parking provided. We recently spent 3 nights in this delightful Bed & Breakfast, it was clean and very comfortable, a good breakfast consisting of fresh fruits, cereals the traditional bacon and egg, beautifully cooked, toast, tea and coffee, and a superb location for visiting many of the Cotswold villages. For anyone wishing to visit the area we highly recommend this wonderful, character filled B&B

Little gem in the Cotswolds
Spent 3 nights in a good-sized family room (room 5) with 2 full-sized singles and a double bed and plenty of space around them. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable and exactly what we needed as a base for our walking break. In spite of the arctic outside temperature (in early April!) the room was very cosy. The breakfast was excellent with everything you could want (and thankfully not a croissant in sight). There was even a guest fridge and wine glasses available. Jan and Bob were very friendly hosts, it was good value for money, a great central location with lots of good places to eat nearby and even an allocated parked space.

Nice, central, good price and friendly hosts
This B&B is great if you are looking for a central place to stay that offers clean, modest accommodation that will not break the bank. The Good: + The B&B is very central in the village, so you are literally mins away from everything.+ Our room was clean and in good condition+ There is a shared sitting room for larger groups who might wish to use it to socialise, the room has a TV, books and some board games.+ Breakfast was excellent (Yogurt + fruit or a selection of breakfast cereals and Full english with Tea or Coffee) - ideal before a long day walking. + I had brought my car and was able to park it with no problems.+ The hosts, Jan and Bob are very nice and helpful. Couldn't have asked for a nicer hosts. The Bad: - The B&B entrance isn't ideal, as it is via the Londis car park. Which we hadn't expected. Once you find the car park there is a sign to the entrance to the B&B.- Wireless doesn't reach some rooms as the building is old and dampens the wireless signal. This was okay for me as I was able to check my email via my phone, but if you have to have access to email you might want to ask about what the best room is.Overall I was very happy, and thought the rooms where good value for money and would definitely stay again.
