Surprising Itasca!
Itasca is my childhood hometown. I haven't been there is decades and was really pleasantly surprised at this find. The Westin was very upscale, extremely comfortable, huge rooms, pleasant staff. The room was very well appointed and had tons of those little extras you only find in a first rate hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable. The linens and towels were first rate. The atrium style of the hotel is so elegant! I wish we could have stayed longer and really enjoyed all of the amenities. The best thing was the price! I guess weekend pricing is drastically reduced! Very classy.

ok... but nothing special
Was here on business the week of 6/14.... it was just ok nothing special...suprised that they advertise wi-fi and charge for it..when I questioned it it was removed from my bill...connection honestly wasnt that great and kept dropping...breakfast imho was very pricey... $20 pp for breakfast buffet? Who eats that much for breakfast?? Dont order off the menu...unless you want pancakes, waffles or french toast ....in the end it willcost you as much as the buffet...if you need to have breakfast go outside the hotel...coffee and a breakfast sammie at the hotel starbucks will still run u about $10..For lunch and dinner it gets a little better but still pricey however the restaurant is a Shula steakhouse so you are paying for the name however the food is good..just pricey. Rooms are average but if you want a cold room forget it.. I like cold and dropping the temp to 60 and I was still warm. Also che k at the desk if you have feather allergies as pillows and comforter were down in my room...again making me warmer...than i wanted to be..For business it works since most likely youre not paying the bill but I do not recommend for families definitely a business or reception hotel.

Always one bad apple in the bunch
Anywhere in the world that I travel, I always know I will have a great place to return to at the end of the dya when I stay at a Westin. Unfortunately, the Westin in Itasca, IL. does not live up to the Westin standards. The evening my family and I stayed at this particular hotel there was a very large wedding. Poor planning on the part of the person checking us in, our room was placed directly next to the brides parents, which was on the same floor of the majority of the family members and guests. There was foot trafiic with door slamming all night. At one point a member of mangement went to the room to complain about the noise but rang their doorbell, which echoed through our room. When I complained about the noise, i was told sorry but it's a large party. No offer to move us only an offer for a late check out. The facilities could also use some updating as well, the pool area is very odd and their person sitting by the door instructing people where to go was non very professional. I always felt I had a safe bet with Westin but in the future I'll be a little more cautious.

its an ok place, nothing special
the westin was close enough to the airport so we didn't have a long drive to get there.We were staying two nights with a trip to Six Flags Great America which was 45 mins away.the first night we stayed there was a High School Prom going on and it was very noisy even though we were staying on the twelfth floor.The rooms are very equipped for business needs and are very plain if you are there for leisure.The internet is not free in the Rooms only free in the lobby.The best thing about this hotel was the elevator ride up the atrium which gives you a fantastic view below.If you want luxury stay somewhere else. We didn't eat here for dinner or breakfast but if you want to then there is a Shulas on site

Put security outside to make sure guests and others are safe
Overall stay was great! Front office staff is nice and courteous One thing to mention is carpet cleaning would be helpful.When I checked out, my receipt was already emailed to me, which was very convenient. I left hotel and went outside,cab driver approached to me and asked my last name,I confirmed the reservation. He took my luggage, opened the door and invited me in.All of a sudden the driver from another cab got out of the car and attacked my driver!!! Started asking questions, who is your customer what is her name, was screaming and very aggressive! I was terrified by his actions! When my driver turned his back to him and walked away he hit my driver in the back!!!! I was sitting in the car and could not believe that its even possible at all. I looked carefully on the logos on the car, it was Allstars company.My driver returned to car and apologized for this drama. I felt so bad it made me feel guilty because he just got hit because of driving me. Can you make sure that security of guests and others are obeyed? How can you assure me that next time I will not get attacked by crazy driver from allstars?
