Good hotel but needs organising
This is a very smart and comfortable hotel (although the bedrooms a little dark for our taste) with very friendly staff and it is a pity it is spoilt by lack of thought and organisation.The continental breakfast that two of our party required was completely inadequate. There was little fruit, limited range of cereals, no croissants and only a few pastries. On our last morning there were even no pastries. When this was raised with the waitress she discussed it with the chef and brought out a plate of biscuits. This was rejected as being completely unsatisfactory and a more senior staff member them appeared and offered to go to Morrisons and purchase some pastries. By this time it was too late. I think that it would be reasonable to have expected it should have been thought of in advance. This after all is a 4* hotel. The matter was raised at reception and it was claimed that the breakfast was complimentary and we should not expect a full range. Our booking was for continental and full breakfast. On our last evening we asked for a desert wine after our dinner as shown on the menu. We were informed that this was out of stock.

Variable experience
My colleague and I stayed at The Bluebell Hotel in Neath while on business. The rooms are spacious, comfy beds with well appointed bathrooms. The decor is browns and blues which is fine when the lights are on, but the room is otherwise quite dark. Each room has a desk light and there is a desk for working on. Unfortunately, the light in my colleague's room did not work and, although she left a note to ask for the bulb to be replaced, this did not happen, no explanation given and it was not rectified during our stay. As we have to do paperwork at night, having a desk lamp was important. The railway line passes close to the back of the hotel: fine, if you are not a light sleeper. The food is generally well cooked, but not inspiring. If you are staying for busuness purposes dinner bed and breakfast, then you are offered a two course evening menu (starters and main course). When we asked what the DBB allowance was, we were told ¿¿15.00, but we're offered he Table d'Hote menu at ¿¿15.95, leaving us to pay an extra 95p per night! Most of the waiting staff were friendly and helpful: the cook agreed to let us have the tagine as there was nothing we fancied on the set menu. In conclusion, it was adequate for what we needed.

Lovely friendly hotel
We stayed overnight for a friends wedding in Neath.This hotel was very clean the food was good in the resteraunt, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space in the room also it was very well equiped with iron and board tble and chairs,. TV, it had a large seating area with a sink and fridge and a lovelly bathroom.I would recomend this hotel to anyone staying in the center of Neath. The staff were brilliant and very helpful, I will certainly stay there again.

Lovely Hotel
Booked last minute to stay at this hotel overnight as we had attended a wedding in The Glyn Clydach which is about 2 miles away. The double executive room was excellent, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding and towels of a high quality. Bathroom had a shower and bath and very spacious. Had breakfast in the restaurant which is attached to the Hotel and it was really good, with waiter service. Could not find fault with anything. I would recommend this to anyone.

Lovely hotel but could be better...
We stayed at the Bluebell for 2 nights in a lovely family room with our 2 children. The room was very comfortable as we're the beds and couldn't fault the cleanliness. The room was very well equipped with essentials and the kids enjoyed the large flat screen tv. Unfortunately there was a group of younger people staying at the hotel that kept us up the first night due to rowdy behaviour. The receptionist was very apologetic however it did spoil our first night. The breakfast the first morning was cooked by the restaurant manager due to a no show from the chef. Luckily enough there was lots of toast on offer as the manager is defiantly not in any way going to win master chef for his carbon sausage and cardboard bacon! Again, received apologies from the restaurant manager and receptionist. We had a very good nights sleep on the second night and felt much more refreshed the next day for checkout. Upon checking my bank balance on return home it was noticed that the hotel had not only processed the total bill but also the initial ¿¿250 'holding' amount the took on arrival instead of deducting the actual bill from this. A phone all to the hotel and another apology and this was resolved in a few days.All in all, a very nice hotel with very friendly staff but it just seemed to be littered with issues which put a dampener on the stay!
