Have some fun!
After reading reviews from several different sites, I was a little concerned about staying at this hotel. I called a month or more ahead of time and talked to the front desk mgr. Bradley Hansen, who took a lot of his time addressing my concerns. I asked for a certain type of location/room and it was perfect. The location is perfect, the hotel only has 4 levels, which is normal for that area (but the hotel is large). The decor was great and very tied into the area (ocean, beach), with beautiful colors. If you want a stuffy hotel that looks like all the other hotels, go somewhere else. This whole staff was great!! The concierge staff was beyond helpful, I have some memory issues, and they sometimes had to explain things twice to me, and it was done without blinking. I really like too, how the bellmen will jump in and try to assist you if the line is long, they know a lot about the area and are glad to share the knowledge. Front desk staff was fast and efficient, along with being friendly. I took a 17 year old niece with me, and when I filled out the "what do you think card" when we left, we couldn't find a single thing to say that would have improved our stay! I expected prices to be what they were, Jesse and JJ (and rest of concierge staff) were great about inside tips for eating and things to do that I hadn't thought of. They even asked me to give input on a couple of things we did, so they could in turn let other guests know about fun things. The beds were so comfy, linens crisp and white, and housekeeping really knows how to make them. This is a reasonable price hotel with great staff and location, if I want to go back to SF, I will stay here for sure. Sometimes people need to realize that you get out of things what you put into them. Do your homework before you go and decide what is important to you; on vacation, free wi-fi or good hotel?

Underwhelming & noisy
No free wi-fi or fridge. Nice decor but wi-fi requires a credit card, room by the fire escape - woken up by riff raff banging on the fire escape door at 3am. Pool is open till 10pm & noisy. Thin walls, small rooms, Tiny bathrooms, no laundry machines. Good location & very friendly staff/concierges, Nice fireplaces which are always occupied. Social hour for $5. But would stay at Courtyard Marriott again instead for free wi-fi & on-site laundry facilities.

Unreal location!
We traveled to the Sheraton on Fisherman's Wharf May 31-June 6. It has such an amazing location!! one block from the wharf, about 2 blocks from Pier 39. All sorts of restaurants & shopping within walking distance. The F-train which goes down the Embarcadero stops right outside the hotel, as well as the bus to Coit Tower is right down the street. The hotel itself is really big. The rooms are nice, some areas of the hotel are a little run down, but considering the amount of guests they serve, its not a big deal. The concierge is so helpful too for booking tours and restaurants. The beds are comfy, and the rooms are fairly large. Only complaint is there was no mini fridge in the room which normally wouldn't matter, but we stayed for 6 nights so it would have been really nice to be able to bring fresh fruits from the markets back, or even left overs, and also no fan in the bathroom (small bathroom, so it got VERY steamy after a shower) There is a shuttle to the airport, and always a taxi available to go anywhere you want. It is about 2 miles from the Ferry Building, but its totally walkable for Alcatraz tours etc...we even walked back from AT & T Park.. (at least 5 miles). The bar and snacks in the lobby are VERY expensive. Go down the street to the Beach Street Grill for breakfast, or on the pier. They have a nice fire pit area outside the hotel to relax at as well.Overall, great stay and would definitely stay at this hotel again. Highly recommend.

A great hotel in an ideal location
This hotel is 'top notch', extremely comfortable and ideally located for a number of the iconic landmarks of San Francisco. All staff are very helpful and professional, willing to go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. We stayed three nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We highly recommend this hotel and will certainly use again when re-visiting this great city.

Nice hotel in a great location.
Hubby and I, along with two other couples, were going to take a private sailboat ride out of Sausalito. Unfortunately, hotel rooms in Sausalito were pretty pricey $320+ per night for a Saturday night (a few hotels require min two nights). So, I decided to take a chance and book a room in SF via Priceline, which turned out to work out wonderfully!Due to some of the reviews on TA, I was a little apprehensive when Priceline revealed the hotel we'd be staying at was the Sheraton. However, our stay turned out to be just about perfect! When we pulled in, we noticed there was a parking lot across the street from the Sheraton. We were advised overnight parking at the Sheraton was $45+ but across the street in the garage, it was $36 - so we parked in the garage. We needed a few munchies for our sail, so we walked a block over to Trader Joes but adjacent to the parking garage, there was also a Safeway! Our plan was to drive to Sausalito but I thought I'd inquire with the Concierge into taking the ferry over. The ferry was $22 rt per person and was a 5 min walk from the Hotel - PERFECT - no hassles with paying the Golden Gate toll fee, finding parking at the Sausalito Marina, or drinking & driving! We had a king size room and it was SUPER clean and updated. I have a thing about dingy bathrooms and carpets but no problems with our room. The view was bad - it was pure concrete - it looked like a roof top. Check-in was 3pm but we arrived around 1:30pm and they were able to accommodate us without a problem. I knew we would be coming home after dark and leaving the next morning so we were ok with the horrible view. The one thing the room lacked was a mini fridge for beverages. However, the ice machine was right around the corner so we filled the sink with ice and we were good to go.We wanted dim sum the next day and the Concierge recommended Yank Sing near the Embarcadero. We had been there once before but completely forgotten about the place, so glad he reminded us. Yank Sing has the BEST dim sum ever... but you'll pay a premium. Again, we were going to drive to Yank Sing but Concierge recommended taking the "F" bus which runs right in front of the hotel. Bus is $2/per person and you get a 90 minute transfer included in the price. After dim sum, we decided to walk along the Embarcadero then jumped back on the "F" bus after we got a little tired.Overall, we had a great experience at the Sheraton. The location is the best, staff was pleasant and informative and we're looking forward to a return to the Sheraton.
