Beautiful
Recently stayed here for 2 nights with my partner, the hotel is about a 20minute drive out of Stratford-upon-Avon which was perfect for us as we wanted to explore the historic area and visit the theatre~The hotel itself was a beautiful old building set in stunning grounds, I couldn't quite believe it was a BestWestern when we were driving up to it! The interiors were kept to old decor that suited the building but with the necessary modern amenities, we stayed in a Queen room (no. 12) which hosted a stunning four poster bed and a fantastic en-suite bathroom! We tried out the room service on our first night, the food was up to a great standard - never got the chance to try out the Restaurant though. The only issue we had on our stay was an interruption on the first morning we woke, some men were coming to change the mattress and had been told all the rooms were empty, luckily this wasn't a major issue for us as we were headed out but a little bit of warning from the staff would have been nice! Overall a great 2 nights stayed in a very peaceful location - would recommend!

Don't stay in the Extension
I notice that the 3 reviews I read had very different experiences to the one I had. Perhaps because they were lucky enough to stay in the main house. My wife and I were accomodated in a ground floor room in the Elizabethan extension We were warned that it may be noisy because of a party in the main building - we were not concerned as we would be at the party till it finished. What we were not prepared for was the constant creaking and groaning of the ceiling and the joists everytime anyone upstairs lay a foot on the floor. The noise was almost constant during the afternoon and evening, but the worst aspect is that though we expected some peace by 1am it continued through the night. The bathroom was also a source of annoyance, no cold water. Both taps delivered hot water!!! I noticed that no water was provided on the table at dinner and one of the barmen was almost reluctant to provide a glass of tap waterThe lights in the bathroom though bright were situated in the center of the room so all you could see in the mirror was your shadow. Also there was no razor point.

Amazing building
Really enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel and wished we could have spent more time hereWill definitely stay again when passingHaunted house feel was magic with small narrow stairs and low doors and ceilingsBathroom was small but very cleverly constructed with all the odd angles of walls

Lovely atmosphere, Lovely Building
We love old buildings with character and this hotel certainly has lots and lots. The balance between old world charm and comfort is just right. The staff are all friendly and helpful and we were made to feel very welcome. We stayed in a large room with the modern bathroom up a short flight of stairs, but still within our room. This was in the converted out buildings facing the main building so we had a lovely view from our room. There is ample parking in two car parks, so i don't quite understand why there are two parking spaces right in front of the hotel building, I myself and many other guests took photos of this lovely building, but these are spoilt a little with two vehicles parked right at the front. I luckily managed to snap a few during the hour or so when the spaces were vacant. The only let down for me was the very poor qualtiy pillows and duvet (the duvet was only about a 3 tog and very flimsy) so I was cold during the night, there are blankets in the wardrobe, but personally I dislike blankets - they are heavy and probably not laundered after every use. The rooms are not very sound proofed but luckily our neighbours were fairly quiet but we could still hear their conversations and the sound of tea cups when they made tea, as I am sure they could also hear us.The quality of the pub meal we had for dinner was wonderful, the lamb shank was the best I have tasted. Breakfast too was excellent, fresh fruit, juices, pastries etc plus a perfect full english with quality ingredients. The Grounds and gardens are very well kept and pretty and there is a lovely sitting out area at the back. We stayed here after taking our son back to Uni in Bristol after his easter break and we will happily stay again when we take him back after the summer break.

wouldnt pay full price
We stayed there for a night through Groupon. We had upgraded for a four poster bed, but they forgot about it and gave us first a normal room. When we came back down, they apologized and send us in an outside room then. Even there the so called four poster bed was just a frame put round a normal bed. Dispappointing and not worth the extra payed money. Room was clean and had all needed facilities. Cream tea was a bit poorly for my first english teatime. Breakfast was not very special, not really tasty. Seemed the staff been all busy to organize a wedding and had not really time for normal guests. The included tickets for Warwick castle they gave us were expired, luckily we seen it in time and got new ones. They told us, that the tickets have all extras included , but when we arrived, was only the entry free, for all Shows we had to pay ourselfs. All together we really felt like 'groupon guests' and wont come back there for the full price.
