Fantastic Hotel with Amazing Views
I stayed at this hotel whilst attending a conference and what an absolutely fantastic choice. A really lovely warm welcome (including very polite and courteous cleaning staff), spotlessly clean room with awesome views and scenery and excellent walking right on your doorstep. There were superb facilities and first class dishes in the restaurant and an equally comfortable bar area. Overall, the stay was perfect and somewhere where I will definately stay again.

Location,location, location
The views from The Quay are absolutely stunning! The hotel is really nice, comfy beds, nice pool with steam room and sauna. The staff were very friendly and helpful, although we did have one or two minor problems (mixups) with the bar and restaurant (it was bank holiday and extremely busy).The steaks in the restaurant were exceptional (cooked over charcoal). We had a lovely time and could have sat on the terrace all day watching the boats go out to sea - perfect!

Wow, hidden treasure!
Booked a last minute one night stay with dinner. ¿¿140 4 course dinner b&b. Hotel looked lovely from the outside and even nicer inside. I only live 30+ miles away but never visited before, I was lost for words. Felt like we were abroad! Lovely bar, lovelier restaurant. Room was fabulous with a view out to the Quay. Food was amazing! Best peppercorn sauce I've ever had. The only one negative comment I'd give was the jacuzzi- wasnt your normal bubbly jacuzzi but then there was nothing wrong with it!Excellent stay, really glad we chose this hotel. Would definately return and recomend to anyone. Thanks to all the lovely, helpful great staff.

Why can't they get food right!
This review relates to the terrace at the Quay Hotel. We are regular visitors, and love the location. The view is breathtaking and it's a real suntrap. Without exception though, whenever we order food we are disappointed. At our most recent visit, I decided to just order some bread and olives. A bit steep at ¿¿4.50 per portion, but given the location and the quality of the hotel in general that's to be expected. The waiter brought to the table a bowl of olives (some pitted, some not - makes for a kind of russian roulette with your teeth), accompanied by 4 slices of regular bread. "Can I get you anything else?" - yes, could we have something to pick up the olives please (forks, cocktail sticks etc.). The waiter returned with forks. "Can I get you anything else?" - yes, could we have some balamic / oil / butter for the bread please. The waiter returned with a small pot of oil and some butter. "Can I get you anything else?" - yes, could we have some knives for the butter please.We witnessed customers at an adjacent table suffer similar service. Their meals were delivered to their table. "Can I get you anything else?" - yes could we have some cutlery please!Please take note Quay Hotel, you need to train your staff.

Lovely food at pretentious prices!
We stayed at the Quay this bank holiday. I can't really fault the hotel itself, the setting is awe inspiring. We loved having ( expensive! ¿¿ 3.15 a cup ) coffee on the decking over looking the Conway estuary. The room was lovely although I had expected that for ¿¿125 room only. The Spa was fine we made use of the facilities but it was no better than my own gym and Spa in Cheshire. We were looking forward to dinner and we weren't disappointed wonderful flavours for both our starters and main courses. However we live near Manchester and Chester and these were definitely London prices for VERY small portions. now we don't like big BUT these were small at ¿¿21 per main course! I ordered white wine at what I thought was ¿¿19 a bottle. When the bill arrived I was charged ¿¿24. It was explained that the list I was looking at for the same wine was priced at per glass or per 500 ml DECANTER! Who these days has a 500 ml decanter of white wine? Very deceptive I would say and as the waitress had to ask the manager I assume the staff don't understand it either. We decided to skip the breakfast in the morning and go into Llandudno, again ¿¿29 extra for 2 breakfasts felt over the top. We hasn't expected nor did we want cheap but we do expect to pay the going rate for good food .This was extortion, my guess is that they were catering for the yachting community who weren't really worried about value for their money! There were very over staffed perhaps one less member would keep prices at a reasonable level but then they were very busy so perhaps aren't concerned, it s as I said a lovely spot and the staff couldn't have been more helpful
