Magic and sublime
We stayed in this hotel only for one night but we enjoyed the place very much. The staff is very nice and polite. The rooms are fantastic it seems like living in another century. The castle is surrounded by a medieval atmosphere. The spa and the pool are the jewel of the castle.

Not 5 Star
The hotel upon arrival is quite impressive. We found the elevator that took us to the main floor and had difficulty finding the reception.Signs should be posted.Check in went well reception was very courteous and friendly. The rooms are quirky ours had 2 levels, the bathroom was extremely small and there was not hot water just warm. The taps in the sink did not work correctly. The heating system was on but was very hot during the night and could not find the controls. No windows would openThe carpet was old and as well as the bed cover........The couch looked tired on the main floor.Poor lighting in that roomThe view was lovely from our room .The hotel itself is not what i would expect from a 5 star. There was no flowers anywhere. No music at night on a week-end ,no candles nothing exciting. In the evening they did light one of the fireplaces which gave a warm atmosphere. They had some lovely rooms that went around the castle on one level. There is no bar so you must request what you want and they will serve you at a cost!!!!!!The restaurant was done stairs and dinner was a set menu. The food was OK but again not 5 star,A bottle of wine cost 43,00 Euro which i found quite expensive.Breakfast was done very poorly. No fresh fruit, juice watered done but they did have some good pastry's.The pool area was not at all impressive, nor the sauna or the steam in a other part of the complex.Being that its rated as 5 star i would give it a three, certainly not 5.

Not worthed! not a 5 Star!
If you are thinking to go to Castello Orsini at Nerola, especially using a move box, give yourself a different option!!! We used our move box to go spend a night at the Castle and were disappointed with the whole experience. Our room was outside the castle and really nothing special, yes in the grounds within the Castle walls, but not much else beside that. The first room that was offred to us had no view and poor decoration, certainly it did not make one feel like being in any sort of Castle. We asked to be moved and we were offered a very similar room but a bit more charming. It was one of the coldest weekend of the year and we were glad to find a very good heating system in the room. We also had a bit of a view, nothing breathtaking but not a wall!!! We had to walk to get into the Castle to visit the location, to hang out there, and for breakfast. We enjoyed an afternoon by the fire place in the space open for guests in the castle. It was relaxing and lovely. We were considering having dinner at the castle but opted to skip that after trying their hot chocolate! We ordered two hot chocolate and we paid 12 EUROS for it! Unheard of especially and MAINLY because it was a watered down, unflavored chocolate, pale grey, no dark brown whatsoever. It tasted as the instant one you get from the little bags. Fine for a train station in the middle of no where not at a 5 star. I would accept it for half the praice and saved this review maybe, but it was an insult to common sensibility. We were right in skipping dinner because the breakfast was just not a five star hotel breakfast. It made you want to get ready, go to your car, get outside the castle and buy yourself a real coffee!!! I mean we are in italy, i don't ask much, but a good espresso it' s a must!or not???? If you end up going to Nerola, though, and to the Castle try to go eat at the family restaurant we found in town, there are only restaurants in Nerola, and this is the oldest one, i don't remember the name. It's the one that does not serve Pizza. They make unbelievable fresh made pasta! And as you may think, yes i do enjoy good eating! The Staff at the Hotel was not particularly accommodating and did not show sincere care when i pointed out that the picture of the room that was shown in the move box brochure was of a large beautiful suite with fire place, very very very very misleading! From the castle you can enjoy a wonderful view of mount Terminillo in a clear day!

Aristocrats for a day!
Impressive castle with an awe-inspiring countryside! Lovely environment if you want to get an idea of what living was like in the past centuries without using a time machine! We stayed there as a family and the staff was very accomodating, the rooms are well heated, spacious and elegantly furnished. It can be a bit tiring to get around since there are cobblestones and stone steps but there is also a very modern lift that connects the garden and parking area to the main level of the hotel. The restaurant is lovely yet a bit pricy. The food is good and the staff a bit disorganized but very kind. The guided tour is well worth taking, just remind the extremely pleasant and well-informed guide to wait for the entire group to be present in each room before giving her presentation.

Great NY eve in castle
We booked a room he for ne year eve. We were very surprised to find out that was almost a real castle. We spend a week on November in Chianti region traveling, and stopped mostly in castles but this one just exceeded all expectations. Castle is just 40 min drive from Rome. Well furnished, and decorated. Each room differs from other and you will in almost as in medieval atmosphere. As part of NY eve package we had a dinner which was very delicious and tasty. The castle has a swimming pool and good spa center. It looks like a good place to come for weekend form Rome
