A fine hotel for a stopover in Luxor
Stayed at this hotel overnight with a cruise tour to the Temples of Karnak, Luxor and the VOK on the other side of the Nile. The hotel was a haven after a long drive by bus and visits in the afternoon sun. Room was fine and meals very good, although we wondered about the one labelled 'Egyptian Foul'......thought it best to skip that one! Bathroom included the 'Intelligent Toilet' which was both a challenge and fun, requiring new skills......e.g. Needing the use of a tablet-style remote to flush the toilet. Hope you can use this effectively, while remembering not to actually put the used toilet paper in the toilet....it goes into the waste bin. Strange combo of old and new ideas. Shower system needs similar skills! Local hawkers are painfully persistent, resulting in no purchases from us. Egypt needs more normal retailing.

Amazing!
We stayed over for one night during a cruise visit to Luxor on the Thomson Celebration. We were delivered to the beautiful foyer with its amazing chandellier and our rooms had already been allocated. The double room was large, very clean and with a balcony which overlooked the quite beautiful River Nile. Watching the Felucca's drifting down the Nile into a fantastic sunset is a site we will never forget. We had lunch, evening dinner and breakfast in the hotel. There was an excellent choice of food at all sittings and the restaraunt was spotlessly clean and the waiters/waitresses all delivered a perfect service with beautiful smiles. The swimming pool was extremely quiet and beautifully set out. All in all a perfect stay. So good in fact that my wife and I intend to return next summer and maybe do the trip to Aswan from Luxor followed by a week's stay at the fabulous St George.

Saint George, my patron Saint!!
Beautiful hotel, lovely rooms, housekeeping exceptional, restaurants great quality for money, quiet and relaxing pool, well mannered and caring staff. Great location for all the sites, bit busy on street, but its a central hotel. Wasn't too keen on fellucca men, too near the sunbathing deck, that was the only minus.

Very Disappointing
Stayed one night as part of overnight cruise tour of Luxor. Hotel wasn't very full & it seemed our room had not been occupied for quite some time. The carpet was diryt, the furniture dusty; the sliding glass door dirty, the balcony dirty. The shower was impossible to operate--not much hot water, with an occassional scalding blast. The wall safe batteries were dead; the toilet never flushed properly. Worst of all the bad was like concrete! Poor food quality & bad service to match. Supervisors often yelling at their minions.If you have another possibility in Luxor, don't stay here!

The staff are The Greatest Asset at this hotel.
I had a very nice stay at this hotel for a few nights in May . The location is excellent- directly on the NIle. The rooms are spacios and well equipped. The whole hotel is immaculately clean. The staff at all levels in the hote from the cleaners to the managementl are clearly professional, welcoming and friendly. They ( The Staff) are the greatest asset that the hotel has.. I would certainly return again. The only thing I did not like about the hotel was the side view from my room (534) which overlooked a piece of waste ground which was in need of tidying up. However,the forward view from the room was on the Nile- This was just great. But for the disappointing side view I would have given this Hotel 5 out of 5.
