myself and my husband stayed here for a romanic getaway in april, from the moment we arrived we were really well looked after the owners are very friendly and accomodating, we stayed in the superior king size room it had a huge bed and a fantastic layout with a large bathroom the attention to detail was second to none with everything you need provided for ( even sherry in the room ) we had a fantastic nights sleep.the breakfast was amazing and well presentend with plenty of choice with great local produce and home made jams, we are booking again for a winter stay, would highly recomend staying here for any occasion. great find and better than some 4 star hotels we have stayed in!! enjoy your stay.

The room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. As two vegetarian guests are needs were accomodated without any fuss or strange sideways glances that you can sometimes get. What really made the difference in this place was the attentive staff who went out of their way to find us a restaurant for dinner, when the nearest one was closed. 10/10 for staff service.

We have just spent 2 nights at the Tithe Barn in Cottesmore,which we enjoyed very much.It is in a lovely village but not too far away from Rutland or Oakham or surrounding areas.The rooms are extremely clean and very well appointed, you are provided with sherry ,water mints and biscuits which are replaced daily.The breakfasts are lovely with an array of food to choose from .. yogurts fruit cereals fruit juice,and then there is the cooked breakfast and toast! We would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful welcome we received when we arrived at The Tithe Barn - both the setting and our room exceeded our expectations. With the house on a quiet side road away from any main roads it was so peaceful. The enormous bed was supremely comfortable in the superior room with the conservatory, and everything here is of excellent quality. The room was spotlessly clean, with lovely Egyptian cotton sheets and a big quilt. Tea and coffee, hot chocolate and fruit teas were ready in the room and also a cut glass decanter of sherry, which is a great touch. Our ensuite bathroom had an amazing power shower, it was so invigorating and spacious, and we also had a generous supply of towels and a bathrobe each. Lots of space in the room and it was just what we wanted.It was really good to have easy access to our room from the parking area, and a great view over the garden ¿¿¿ it will be a treat to see it again in the warmer months. A short walk round to the lovely panelled breakfast room, and the whole house has such character ¿¿¿ the dovecote on the end of the building is a great quirky feature.Breakfast was excellent with a generous choice of fresh fruit, homemade muesli and cereals, prunes, yoghurts and juices, and the amount available for the full English was enormous ¿¿¿ we could barely finish it all. The local free range eggs were double yolkers and were really tasty. Marmalade and jams were homemade to accompany the plentiful hot toast and bottomless coffee pot. There was a wealth of local and tourist information in there for everyone to access, and John and Monique were so helpful with advice on the local area and especially places to eat. They pointed us to the pub in the village (Sun Inn) which is easy to get to on foot, and we also tried on their recommendation The Wheatsheaf in Greetham and The Berkley Arms in Wymondham, which are well worth going to. Cottesmore is a very attractive village, with beautiful stone houses and quite a few thatched cottages. Just outside the village was The Hambleton Bakery which sells exquisite bread and cakes. They were the winners of the Britains Best Bakery competition on tv before Christmas, and you can see why! We were like kiddies in a sweetshop in there, and it was fantastic to stock up with treats to take home and presents on our last day.An excellent find with friendly and personal service - definitely a B&B I will visit again and highly recommend it to others visiting Oakham, Rutland or Cottesmore!Great to have free wifi as well!

¿¿¿¿We have stayed here twice now in the past year, and it is a perfect midway break travelling from the north of the UK to visit relatives in the south. ¿¿Each time we had a really warm greeting and we have been really pleased with the lovely rooms we had ¿¿¿ very clean with nice little touches. The first time we stayed in a non en-suite room that was fine, but this time we paid the extra ¿¿5 for an en-suite room and it was well worth the extra pennies to have a bit more space and an en-suite shower. We always have a fantastic nights sleep here and really look forward to our visits. Staff were really helpful when we booked and when we arrived, and served us enormous breakfasts which are cooked to order. It's a short walk to the local pub which is quaint and friendly.
