two night stay
We stayed at the hotel for two nights in a double room but it was not up to our expectations and I left a negative comment on the website and thought that would be an end to it however the front of house manager Diksha Rammundum went out of his way to make amends by offering a free stay or a partial refund of our costs which we accepted and cant thank him enough for being helpfull in resolving the matter

Not great overall
Stayed here for a night with work so it wasn't my own money but the rate was pretty good for dinner, bed and breakfast. It's set in nice grounds and despite the proximity of the M25 you can't here it that much.First, the room was in the Ridings, a separate building away from the main hotel which was ok but a bit of a walk for meals/bar - would be good if you were at a wedding in the barn though and the courtyard was nice.Room smelt a bit of smoke when I got in, and I noticed a few butts on the ground outside the window which wasn't a good start. Other than that the room was fairly spacious, clean and comfortable. Mattress was ok but not up to the standard of a Hilton or Marriott which seem to have a remarkable ability for consistent comfy beds everywhere you go. Bathroom was a good size too, with good water pressure but a large black mark/chip on the bottom of the bath.First experience of the food was dinner, we had the buffet option which included 3 courses. The starters choice was ok, but it was all cold which made the breaded mushrooms and deep fried mozeralla sticks less good. It didn't get any better with the main course, with the choices of chicken, steak or tuna all overcooked - especially the tuna which one colleague referred to as cardboard before swapping it for the chicken. Desserts were ok, but the highlight was probably the pre-packed vanilla ice-cream mini-tubs!After the disaster that was dinner I wasn't really looking forward to breakfast, but it wasn't that bad. Cereal selection was a bit sparse but the cooked options were fine.A couple of other things I noticed that didn't help with the score, it had been raining overnight and there was a leak in the corridor outside my room that had created a large wet patch on the carpet and was still dripping on the carpet when I checked out, despite having told reception. There was also a room service tray outside one of the other rooms in the corridor that had been there since the previous night - this part of the hotel clearly doesn't see much staff activity.

Great for a night away
Got a late deal for less than ¿¿50 so expectations weren't particularly high but exceeded expectations. Free drinks, tea, coffee etc from drinks stations around the hotel. Lovely views and peaceful location and even had the gym all to myself. Restaurant was lovely. Service at the bar could be improved but overall a lovely night away.

Customer service nil
Stayed for 2 nights/ wedding. No cash machine on site, do not take visa debit cards, ordered newspapers for 2 days, was told no delivery & no record of my order, was 1st customer at bar, ordered beer, was told gas had run out, hence later on bottled beer was warm, ran out of greeting champagne, so grooms family never got a drink. Do not stock Gordon's gin anywhere on site. Do not have steak knives, coz people keep stealing them, would not stay again, reception staff not very helpful, drinks very expensive, & not a lot of choice.

Good value and excellent food
We spent 3 nights at this hotel, the cost of bed & breakfast was very reasonable. The hotel is in imposing grounds, has a large car park and is handy for the M25. Food was excellent, although in the evening we only had the buffet menu, the choice was good and all you can eat. The breakfast choice was varied. The room we had was functional and clean but not the largest we have stayed in. I'm sure there are others which would be larger. The bed was comfortable and sheets clean. Access to the rooms on the upper floor of the hotel was a bit of a maze and quite a few stairs to our room which was awkward with cases. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All in all a very pleasant experience and would not hesitate to book again if we were planning on going to the area. There is a small gymnasium but no pool, which was a bit of a surprise.
