Awesome!
What a nice hotel. Friendly staff, good food and perfect location at the Dahab Logoon. Diving and windsurfing are great, and in the afternoon a real beachvolleybal match started thanks to the animation team. Large rooms with comfortable beds. Would love to go back there :-)

Lovely location, wonderful service
We are three friends on our first holiday together for 30 years! We chose Dahab for sunshine and the hotel because it was smaller than the usual all-inclusive and got good reviews. Like many previous reviewers, we had been caught up in First Choice's decision to pull out of this hotel - they cancelled us after we had already booked and paid a deposit. However, we were hooked on this hotel, so created the same holiday independently at slightly lower cost.We loved the hotel. We asked for adjoining rooms and got next door ones which was fine. I'd recommend you ask for first floor rooms with sea view. Best views and also quiet. the rooms are clean and comfortable and the daily servicing excellent. The food was good quality and pretty varied, with some quirky stuff - always worth trying. Local spirits taste funny, so I stuck to the very drinkable wine and beer. The main thing about this hotel is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - nothing is too much trouble and they showed a genuine concern for both our enjoyment and safety/ security. Best service I have ever had.Other people have mentioned the noise of the Animation entertainment at the pool. I too didn't like the loud music, but was mostly on the beach and escaped to snorkelling when it was loud. We really enjoyed the evening events they put on and also the morning stretching. We will be back!

Take care to ask in advance
We chose this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and from already knowing Dahab having visited many times. We usually stay at the Hilton a few metres back towards Dahab on the same lovely lagoon beach but had thought we might try somewhere else just to make a change. The Dahabeya was well and recently recommended but unfortunately there were certain elements which did not fit the bill for us in reality, although others may not find them an issue:Firstly I had asked for a room with a bath whilst booking but it turned out the only rooms with baths were the suites which were booked out and also an extra 50 Euros a night. The hotel said if you have any particular requirements email the hotel directly rather than relying on travel agents/sites to pass on your requestsSecondly the 'Animation' events (Entertainment) were very loud and if they were not of interest then there was not really anywhere you could go to escape them - certainly they were very loud from our room and the peacefulness of the pool being intermittently disturbed by rave music is something which should be made clear. I guess the beach may have not had the rave music issue but unless you got there at 6am you would not be able to get a sunbed with a sea view.Thirdly the attitude of the waiters when, for example, taking a drink from the restaurant, to your room was that this was not allowed. Also waiting for even a drink of water at the restaurant could take the entire time you take to eat your meal which is far from ideal when it is hot or at anytime. Not very inclusive.Fourthly the 'mockney' English accents put on by some restaurant staff when speaking with English people is tiresome and comes across as patronizing although I guess they mean it to be amusing and friendly. The restaurant food was uninspiring at best.Lastly the hotel taxi that we took to the 3 pools not only did not know which way to go: we had to show them, but the 2 hotel staff driving and accompanying became aggressive when I said that I would pay them on our return leg. Not good. Also the taxi which we ordered to return us to the airport (not from the hotel as the price was extortionate - more than twice what we paid) was not allowed to the front of the hotel to pick us up.On a plus note the bed was comfy and the rooms were well cleaned. I'm sure families would have a better experience than we did given the insignificance of our issues. However we will go back to the Hilton next time which is more conducive to rest, quiet and the customer service I expect from a holiday.

Perfect for us!
We are so glad we stayed with our choice of hotel (see below), it is lovely and is wonderfully situated for the watersports holiday which is exactly what we wanted (we were 2 adults celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniv with our son and daughter and their partners). We travelled from Sharm-el -Sheikh airport in a minibus and went through a couple of security checks which presented no problem, the driver did the talking and we continued on our way.Right at the beach, with a backdrop of mountains and the blue, blue sea...the hotel was perfect for us. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful, especially the reception staff when our bank card was retained by the ATM (we later collected it from the bank). The restaurant staff were great at ensuring we had a table for 6 in the evenings, the room cleaners and beach-towel staff were all extremely helpful, all were attentive and we felt that nothing was too much effort (including a small surprise birthday cake for my husband). The various water-sports facility staff at the beach were the same and all contributed to a superb week and I hope we will go back. Our rooms were by the pool (probably east facing because we had shade in the afternoon). In April, this situation was fine, because not many people were using the pool. Maybe in warmer weather a room with garden views might be advisable, however, we had no problem with noise.Towards the end of breakfast-time very quiet background music could be heard, but it was very pleasant and gentle and we did not find it annoying at all. In fact, I couldn¿¿¿t even say when it stopped...maybe after breakfast? We used the hotel shuttle bus into Dahab several times in the evenings and enjoyed our walks, snacks and shopping there. We did a trip to The Blue Hole and also a quad excursion, it was nice to see a little bit more of the local area.We booked this holiday in Oct 2012 with Thomson and it was to be our first all-inclusive holiday for the 6 of us to celebrate our 40th Wedding anniversary and we were very disappointed in January when Thomson emailed us to say they were withdrawing from this hotel and offered us an alternative hotel in Sharm-el-Sheikh. However, after many hours on the Internet, my husband was able to find flights, re- book the 3 rooms (but now only half-board) for the same dates, unfortunately, it worked out more expensive but we were very pleased in staying with our first choice of hotel!

Really lovely hotel and staff
After the security worries and the fact that Thomson First Choice had pulled out of the area, it was a relief to arrive at the Iberotel Dahabeya to the warm welcome of a top class reception service. Arrival business quickly sorted, we were shown to our room overlooking the pool, which we did not expect. After using all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, we were surprised to see how small in comparison this hotel was. But it was such a lovely and cosy atmosphere and staff and fellow travellers were all so friendly because of this. Also, when the days are shorter in winter, you don't want to be spending too long mooching around. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the hotel and the grounds which is something you don't always get these days. The restaurant and staff were top class and although by the end of 10 days, the menu didn't always hold many suprises, it was always very good quality. The restaurant staff were very friendly and always remembered where we'd like to sit, what we'd like to drink etc and we enjoyed their company. We went on the Canyon trip with a bedouin guide which was a great day out and perfectly safe. We spent the day deep in the Wadi and visited a genuine oasis where we had lunch. The guide and driver were first class and it was booked through palmabedouinsafar@yahoo.com which was located in Dahab. The hotel is situated on the beach in the lagoon area and is a windsurfer's paradise. Although not soft white sand, it was a very nice South Sinai situation surrounded by the Sinai mountains. As we had originally intended to travel with First Choice, once they had pulled out I found the same holiday a lot cheaper by using Travel Republic which was actually a very good choice for us as I could book the flight I wanted on the day I wanted and we booked their suggested transfer which turned out to be very good. So good in fact, we had our own limo transfer for the two of us only back to Sharm el Sheik airport. I used Monarch low cost airlines and to be fair, we didn't have food or films included but you would not have otherwise have thought of it as low cost. I must emphasise that the staff of this hotel make it what it is - the perfect English speaking receptionist for who nothing was too much trouble, the cleaning staff and the waiters and bar staff. If I had one little negative comment, it would be that it was very competitive to get a seat on the courtesy bus to Dahab. In fact, it was pushy. I don't know whether a bigger service runs if it is really busy but we tried to get a taxi as an alternative which was unsuccessful. There are lots of vehicles on the road outside, including beat up pick up trucks, calling themselves taxis outside of the hotel and they are not registered taxis. You should not be using these. So all in all, this is a great hotel in the South Sinai and you can feel safe to travel here. It was welcome break from the weather and very relaxing.
