DISGRACEFUL!!! DIGUSTING!!!! DIRTY!!! BUILDING SITE!!
family of 4. satyed 5th may. check in was at 2pm. we went to funtasia waterpark and didnt shower as we wanted to use the hotel facilities... on arrival soaking wet from funtasia we were told our family room want ready and would be 45 mins to come back then... we waited in our car soaking wet a we couldnt do anything else..we went back 1 hour later and tried to check in again and the receptionist said sorry your family room isnt ready yet can u come back in 30mins - 45mins....we said this was the second time we had been asked this and that we now needed a room to shower and explained for why.... we ere the given a double room to shower.. we ate in the bar to bide time and we had to sit at a table for 2 with 4 people including a high chair....we were thrown food without cutlery napkins or drinks.. we tried to get satff attention 3 times to assist but our food was now cold. we went back to reception 3 hours later and we were told our family room was still not ready by the same receptionist...i asked to speak to a manager when i did so she immediately got us a family room it was un clean and not air conditoned it was warm and clammy...breakfast the next morning was terrible..no staff to assist with young babies, we needed a hgh chair and couldnt find one after walking around for 15mins looking we went to reception and waited a further 15mins to speak to smeone to get help..10mins later a highchair arrived... we will never stay here ever agin and we would seriously not reccommend this hotel..it looks onto a building site. very noise street location..

Nice hotel... But no restaurant
Ok. 2nd time I stayed there, and this time they changed the restaurant to a pub out the back. Really sad to see this change, the pub is small and no comfortable, the previous bar area was spacious and a nice place to relax and have a drink, The service in the restaurant was, sadly to say, abismal. We sat down to order as a group and we orderded 2 of the same plates and the same plate arrived 20 mins apart.....we would order drinks which took 15 mins to arrive or not at all. I think the negatives about moving the bar to the attached pub could be overlooked if the service was better... But the front of house did not seem to interested.. When it came to pay the bill, they didn't bring a pen to add the tip... So we didn't tip. Maybe front of house don't get the tips from the tables?Anyway.. Apart from the service in the restaurant evening, everything else was fine. Breakfast in the mornng was fine, nice fresh coffee and buffet. Rooms are big and very clean. Food in the evening was excellent, (when and if it arrived)Bring back the previous bar and restaurant. Also the "gym" is a joke, its a room with a threadmill.. Better to team up with some local gym to offer a service.

Great Value in Drogheda
Stayed here on a recent trip North. Very nice hotel with friendly staff. The bedrooms were both clean and modern with large windows overlooking the river. Parking is available adjacent to the hotel and is free for residents. Breakfast was served in the adjoining bar/restaurant and seemed to have everything one would want to eat .

The lovely D Hotel
Just back from a really, excellent stay at The D Hotel. From check in to check out we had a really great experience. We were met with probably the nicest hotel staff we've ever encountered. They were extremely helpful and really made an effort to answer all our questions about the town and made some excellent dinner recommendations. The room was lovely and clean and the beds very comfy. The room was very warm on the first night but we left the window open on the second night. The gastro pub on the premise was fantastic. Again excellent bar staff and waiters and the food was top notch. I would recommend booking a table as it was jammed both friday and saturday night. Overall our first trip to Drogheda was a very pleasant experience and we would recommend The D without hesitation.

Convenient hotel in a nice town
Drogheda is a very nice town with plenty to see and do. The D hotel is conveniently located in town facing towards the river. Although the staff were pleasant and efficient people checking in and out all gathered in the rather small and oddly orientated lobby of the hotel on the very busy day we stayed. My room was large and bright with a nice vista over the river. The bathroom had a good shower and bath. Both the carpet and the curtains were stained and the towels were a bit light. I felt the hotel was showing signs of wear and could do with a little more attention to maintenance throughout. The breakfast was served in the bar which was a bit odd but was of decent quality with a good selection. The night of my stay there were a number of parties/events underway at the hotel and there was plenty of action. Not exactly the place for a quiet relaxing stay but pleasant none the less.
