We spent 2 weeks in Hotel Sorrabona apartments in August 2012. We have three kids 12,10 and 8. The hotels location is the biggest plus and is directly across from the beach and in the centre of the town. B&B and half board seem to stay in the hotel building itself and the self catering apartments are around the corner in a separate building. We were self catering and even though we had the use of all the hotel facilities and pool, sunbeds etc, we still felt a bit detached from the hotel community at times. Having said that the accommodation is spotless, the towels are changed every 3-4 days the bed covers were changed once in 2 weeks but the walls are thin and you can hear doors closing and chairs being moved. The town is mainly families and older and there is very few crowds of twenty somthings around. We travelled into Barcelona by train which is an hours trip and we hired a car for a few days. All in all a great holiday but would prefer to have been part of hotel and for that reason only would not stay in there again.

Just spent a most enjoyable weeks holiday staying at the Sorrabona hotel. Excellent location, the beach directly infront of the hotel and all shops, banks etc just a short walk away. The staff are very friendly and the room was excellent - spacious, spotlessly clean and lovely large balcony overlooking the beach. There is a fantastic large swimming pool for guests (immaculate and clean like everything here), plenty of sunbeds for guests, shaded area, lounge area and free wifi. Breakfast good with plenty of choice and evening meal was adequate with lots of fresh vegetables, salads and fruit. Good wine list and bottle of wine around ¿¿8/¿¿10 - drinks at bar good value too. We parked our hire car in the car park at the hotel for 7 Euros a day - safe and shaded parking.Have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Some light entertainment provided .. a disco one night and live music another but very very low key and no problem with noise... both evenings the music was over by 11pm... and rooms have double glazed patio doors so once shut could hear nothing!As a family with a hire car we made excursions every day and went up North to the beaches around Palafrugell, Tamariu, Llafranc and Tossa - easy driving and beautiful scenery.. One day we got on the train from outside hotel and went for a day trip to Barcelona - bit busy and hot! Try Girona instead - far more civilised!Sorrabona will def be coming back to see you!

Spotless and well maintained. Unlike adjacent resorts Pineda does not suffer from the all night discos so its nice and pieceful.On the front between the railway line and the sea, but not a problem as underpass immediately in front. Train station within 100 yards and 1 hr to BarcaFood is good but a limitted selection. I find this great as when there are massive buffets, I over indulge. Plenty of good restuarants in the area if you are a fussy eater.Would go back tomorrow and met a couple on their 15th visit which speaks for itself
