We decided to stay as a last minute extra night get away, we shouldn't have bothered. We had been looking forward to this stay as the pictures on the website looked nice. We booked a double executive room DBB for one night with a promotion of a bottle of wine. On arrival at the hotel we were checked in by a pleasant member of staff he booked us in for dinner at 1945hours one one small problem was that he never explained where the restaurant was, breakfast times or where it would served or what time check out time was. We were just given the key and a slip of paper which was our voucher for our bottle of wine. Our room was large and looked nice but on a closer look it wasn't as nice! We had two single beds pushed together, they were that badly worn you felt like you needed climbing equipment to get out of it. The valance sheet only came half way down the base of the bed. We had two side light without any bulbs in them. There was one glass out on the side table but it had something crusty stuck on it! The large dressing table was so dusty on the frame we could write dust on it. The shower head was covered in black mould. The mixer tap felt like it was going to come off in my hand it was that slack. We had a black leather sofa in the room but you certainly not able to sit on it as one of the legs was twisted. And that was just the bedroom. We were shown to our table and before we were even seated the staff member started to explain to us that what we were entitled to. Maybe just my way of thinking but I would have expected to be seated 1st. It was self service so off we went to get our starters. The choice was cold buffet or soup. There wasn't anything to tell you what things were. I.E type of soup or in the cold section what fish it was. There was also no where to lie down the utensils so they lay on top of the food which defeats the purpose of using them! The salad bowl had a large spoon, what happened to salad tongs? Also the fish was next to the p¿¿t¿¿ if you wanted anything to put your p¿¿t¿¿ on you had to get a (hard) bread roll from where the soup was. The main course was carvery. Choice of three meats potatoes and veg. After we had finished our meal we sat through in the lounge area. Is was small and cold. A member of staff went to put a side light on but it didn't work so he changed the bulb, still didn't work! So he just left it. There was also a few spot lights hanging down from the ceiling. Dirty glasses sat on the table beside us for the length of time we were there. No one came round tiding up. Breakfast was ok. But don't expect toast because all you get is warm bread!!! We felt like we were in a bus tour hotel rather than it being a hotel that catered for bus tours. We were very disappointed with this hotel and certainly wouldn't recommend it.

Bad start to my stay at daresbury park, i will update as time goes on, hopefully things will be more positive....well looks can be very decieving, lovely modern industrial estate, nice at front, dreary old miserable looking at the back. First room...dated tired, dull, no tea or coffee or milk to go with kettle ! Telephone not working to contact reception, moved to another room in s speedy fashion mind, room good size and had couch at end of bed, but also has brown damp patch on ceiling, mould in shower, cobwebs on walls, don't think windows hav ever seen a wash dull and dreary, bare in mind we had paid extra for an upgrade !!!! Told hotel full, this also means restaurant full and we can't eat till 815, being pregnant this is late. Will end up looking for a local shop to meet my needs as wont b paying 6pound for bland sandwich,on a positive leisure facilities lovely.

weekend of the 11th may 12th may we went to the daresbury paek hotel on a private coach party in my party there were nine of us when i realised it was a britannia it was with dread that i went but on arrival i was pleasantly surprised it was a nice looking hotel on like an industrial estate but a very nice one cheerful staff help us book in a took us to our rooms which were nice and clean and furnished the beds were very comfortabel and the place was spotless there was a leasure suite in the hotel with a very nice pool area jacussi anda steam room evert were was clean which was not my experience from other britannia hotel we had bed breakfast and evening meal which wasnt fancy but was hot and well cooked the breakfast was all you could want which again was not my usual experience in britannia hotels some of the other britannia hotels need to take a lesson from this one in particular the on in coventry which was disgusting all in all a very enjoalbe stay

Stayed here with some colleagues and over dinner we were chatting about the hotel and it was clear we all had different opinions. I had few issues; the room was clean and large, but there were a couple of light bulbs gone and the window would not close fully - but other said their rooms were small, damp and cold. The glass corridor from reception to the rooms can be very cold since it seems unheated and not well sealed against the environment. BUT it was cheap, especially with breakfast included and access to an excellent fitness room. Dinners (carvery) are fine for one or two nights, but if staying longer you might want to look for somewhere lese for some variety. But no complaints about breakfast - many choices and plenty of it. Staff were fine end efficient.In summary - great price but the rooms are a lottery.

This hotel lists itself on "booking.com" as a 4 star. NOT EVEN CLOSE. I travel for business and I stay in loads of hotels and if you want to stay at a 4 star hotel, here is not the place. I cannot believe how cold my room is, because, as i've been told, the heatting is off. Well, it's fricking freezing and there's no heat so they told me they would send me a portable heater. The room has cobwebs hanging from the ceiling; chips in side of the bathtub; no tv remote; holes in the wall. My portable heater has just been delivered...thank god....THIS IS A HOTEL THAT NEEDS TO STAY OFF YOUR LIST OF POSSIBLE'S. THE STAFF ARE LOVELY, THE HOTEL IS NOT.
