Lympha Spa
I did not stay at Villa Tuscolana (much to my dismay) but I did make use of the Spa twice. You have to try it. It's not expensive - entrance to the sauna & hamman is 30 Euros on weekdays and 40 Euros on weekends. It is in one word - FANTASTIC. The staff are fabulous. courteous, caring - I was floored. The services were great. On the first day I did the hot stones massage. Sooooooooooo good. And then I followed it up with 2,5 hours in the Finnish sauna, hydromassage pool and then Turkish bath. I will do it again. It's easy to do this as a day trip from Rome. You must book before hand though. It was not crowded but I'm not sure if it was just the time/season.

Beautiful location
Fantastic building! Beautiful location, nice rooms and Interior. But the spa first open at 12.00. A bit late. The breakfast cost 10¿¿¿ and then you can put 6¿¿¿ at top of that for a eggs and bacon! It's not worth the price. The bar selection is not impressive.But the view from the hotel and the interior makes this a hotel worth visiting.And remember that the hotel offer a shuttle service to Frascati down town.

Awful rooms
The hotel itself looks very nice - well kept grounds and all the common areas well decorated.Unfortunately, the rooms are utterly, utterly awful. I've never slept on such a worn out, dirty and unpleasant bed as the one in my room. The room itself resembled a prison cell, although most prisons probably have better entertainment. The shower was tiny - I'm not particularly fat but even I struggled to wedge myself into it! I stayed once in a hotel in central London that charged by the hour - it was considerably nicer than the Tuscolana.Food was average - I don't consider beef and mashed potatoes to be anything to write home about.It is possible to walk into Frascati, but you're taking your life into your hands walking down an Italian road - there's no footpath and only basic lighting. There's virtually no mobile coverage in the area too, so expect your mobile to be completely flat in about 8 hours of standby.I understand this hotel has better rooms - if so, you may have better luck. Certainly, the room I was given was a total dump and not worth half what I paid.

Dissapointing
Wonderful location, great views, average rooms, overall awful service.A lovely, lovely building and fabulous setting. Brilliant free shuttle on check-in and check-out and free wi-fi. We were there for a freinds wedding and we had a great time but one moment you would get a helpful polite person dealing with you but too often we were faced with someone who had no concept of service. When I asked at reception for an extra pillow I was told to come back in the morning.

Lovely place, truly beautiful!!!
I found this place thro Booking.com and although I know Frascati I did not know this hotel. It dates from the 1600 and was a family house, in the Roman hills about 20km south of Roma. The place is stunning and the views over the city are almost breathtaking. Unfortunately 2 weddings were taking place when my friends visited so they could not use the pool nor the health centre, but just walking around the grounds with a glass of wine was stunning. The room was lovely on the 5th floor, light and airy, the dinner was good and the breakfast too.Service was NOT fantastic, but the place was well worth it.
